a couple game suggestions

In GCII when you started a major construction like the infamous Hyperion Shrinker or a Manufacturing Capital, you couldn't build one on another planet. I don't think you should be able to see that selection anymore in other planets build lists but you do in GCIII (Once a Hyperion Shrinker is made, the selection goes away but not until it's completed). Does it make sense to start building TWO Manufacturing Capitals? I don't think so.

I really don't like the handling of the "idle ship" button. If you have a group of 7 ship that you want to "pass the move" on, you have to hit pass, idle ship, pass, idle ship, pass, idle ship etc etc etc. If you are deciding to "pass", I think you should just jump to the next ship without having to hit the "idle ship button". I think GCIII has too many forced mouse clicks. In my opinion, I really liked the handling from GCII. New activities filled a list on the main screen after a turn button was pressed and you could mouse over them to get the context and if you didn't want to process that event it would go away on its own in like 2 turns - way cleaner way to do it. Not here YOU MUST USE MOUSE CLICKS TO EVEN MOVE ON, arrrggggghhhh. In my opinion, if you are too stupid to process the game then the Drengin should kill you off quickly. Part of learning to master the game on your own terms was part of the fun for me. I really felt great when I finally won but here I feel I am playing THE AI'S GAME because it won't let me be idle or skip anything. I want to learn by my mistakes and not be forced to play the game efficiently or properly. Each GCII game I played I had to learn how to win, this seems like my hand is being held too much, idle ship , idle ship, idle ship yard, idle ship , idle blah blah blah And to explain why I was using the pass was when I was building the fleet, not every ship arrived at the same time so I was passing as other ships were still flying in.

Is there a way to know the population cap on a planet? In GCII I knew when to build more farms by watching the population approach the cap number for the planet.

One last question... Is a typo to be listed here or is it a bug forum thing.

For example: In Terran Tech - Warfare - Point Defense Optimization It says "Point Defense cost +10%" ??????? When in the text description it says the price of systems is coming down, That should be "cost -10%"

Another but I forget the whole path In Influence - Commerce Specialization - Supportive Population it says "Approval +0%" -  wow with that kind of boost you can't go wrong....

thanks for a lot of fun so far....

The major/mega buildings thing is a bug. Its well known.

Idle ship is annoying and I understand they are working on that.

I think the population thing will have be fixed in the Beta 2 when it comes out. I know other things will be.

There are a lot of typos currently. I think there is a thread (if not there should be) for those.

yes, there is a thread somewhere.  Someone took the time to go through the xml files instead of waiting for them in game.  You should check yours against that list.

The idle ship thing is a huge pain in the ass, particularly in the end game.

As far as population cap goes, the population seems to be limited by the food. So just increase the food as the population number comes closer.

End of quote

I think some mouse over info on the food should give visibility on the max population (and maybe what went into that if it is anything other than food).  Saying how many mega tons of food is not valuable information without context into how that affects max population.

Food is max pop.  40 food = 40 bp max.  There are no other factors.
