Amazing, I can't imagine playing the game this way. I don't have anything against it, but it is not my style and if it ever comes down to requiring 5-6 starbases per planet to beat the AI, I will probably stop playing. I support all the efforts to reduce constructor micro since my pitiful 1-2 bases per planet and my resource/relic bases are a huge pain without doubling the output. <span style

The game freeze is cause by using a mouse with no mouse 3. Just kidding, a day late for April Fool but I couldn't resist :) Sorry about your mouse. I was going nuts trying to figure out how to rotate. I had programmed my m3 to refresh and I could not get it back to default. Luckily I have a bunch of mice laying around.

I have had the council vote against proposals that impose a huge tax on them with little benefit. This is rare and they do seem to agreeable. They also vote me in as chairman every time. Even if they hate me. Anyway, it's not broke, it just needs adjusting. I have gotten many non-aggression treaties and I have won a couple of alliance victories The non-aggression are much harder to get in B5. Not only do you have to be strong, they have to be weaker than heck. I have had some over
FWIW, in GC2 if you turned off cultural victory but then culture flipped every planet in the entire galaxy, it counted as a military victory.
Sounds good to me. I wondered what would happen if the last planet flipped before you could invade. Hell, this sounds like a feature to me. One of my biggest complaints about conquest victory was the need to kill off every single, out of the way, dinky little, c

I like #2. That is where I am getting into trouble with the new system. I am not always willing to wait and let it work like it is supposed to Like you I have had sort of a learning curve with the system and I am starting to understand it. If I get impatient and send a few constructors manually it screws up the process. It takes some patience to get it to work. It would be great to be able to cancel requests. If you get the 2 module trait it can leave you having asked for more t

If you are playing single player, just turn it off and forgetaboutit. I realize that with the I victory turned off planets might still flip but as long as the outcome is a conquest V, what's the difference. In any war as the stronger faction starts closin

Using a small map, abundant habitable and abundant extreme planets. Total of 40 +-5 habitable planets, half of them are extrene. Same map, Abundant habitable and rare extreme planets. Total of 40 +-5 habitable planets, about 5 are extreme. I tried this several ways (common, occasional, etc.) always using the small map. The conclusions are... As already noted, the abundant setting bug is fixed, it now gives you the most habitable planets, abundant + extreme Choo
Starting credits reduced to 1000
I'll bet that is Brad's doings, but what the heck it will hurt the AI more than me. With the 1st improvement bonus 1K is fine. I do hate that I'll have to build my own ships now. :) Sounds like a great patch. Almost like a new release.
Problem is, Approval Relics are NOT working right now as far as I can tell. So any and all bonuses that one is supposed to get from them ain't happening. And this is a major major problem on large maps, as there just aren't many sources of percentage increases to happiness that affect the entire empire.
I don't know Buck. I am seeing the mouse over telling me that the relics are working and I can

I started a game on excessive with abundant habitable and I got lots of planets but not as many multiple planet systems as the screen shot. Luck of the draw I guess :) One thing that may or may not be a problem, I am not a fan of extreme planets as they have appeared so far. I chose rare for extremes hoping to see how the patch had worked on them. Believe me they are not rare, and most of them are radioactive. Can anyone confirm whether or not the barren planet bug was fixed b

Another poster reminded me recently that GCII had a list that included un-colonized on the left of the screen. I recall the list but I didn't find it helpful and therefore didn't look at it much. The new system of sending constructors got me thinking that a way to queue colony ships would be a great feature. This is particularly true when playing the new excessive, gigantic and insane maps with abundant settings. There are many ways this could be implemented. One way (probably not the

I hate to mention this because the Over Powered faction will be on it like a duck on a June Bug. :) The Morale relics make it all go away. I am on T100 in an excessive game, about 25 colonies. My overall approval was at about 60 with 14-15 colonies, when I researched precursor archaeology. I built 2 sb to control 3 morale relics and after upgrading 3 levels I am at about 90 approval. There are still several levels to upgrade and there are more relics if I need them. I hope I a

Will there eventually be a way to edit custom factions? I created a couple and forgot to add logos. If there is a way to add a logo now, clue me in. Otherwise It might be worth it to keep them around until there is an edit function. The only other alternative is to delete and start over. That is not the end of the world but still a minor PIA.

Explain this to me I have waited and I have used them as they come and it seems that there is no reason to wait, with soil enhancement anyway, because if you wait it is usually (always) useless and hangs around on your list unusable. Maybe some of the others are different. I haven't thought it through.
GC2 (at least TA) did have a list of unowned planets, it was a tab on the planet/ship list on the left side of the screen. I do recall another game having a more useful list, don't remember which one though. As I recall, it listed discovered but unowned planets by planet quality and allowed you to queue a colony ship to go there from that window.
I had forgotten the list. Now I'm going to have t

The peace treaty option does not appear until you are at war. If you are at war and there is no peace option, it must be off of the table for some reason. The game is funny that way. Sometimes when you can't do something it is hard to figure out why. Usually to get peace you have to get ahead militarily, or pay through the nose. If you are beyond help the option might not be there. If you have enough BC sometimes you can buy enough fleet from other players to get you back in it. :

Lord, Lord, I did not intend to imply that you said or even thought the system was bad. Your intent was clear, apparently mine was not. My initial comment was independent of anything you said and just my opinion that the system flawed as it is is better than nothing. I have let my interest in the game make me too willing to add my 2 cents on too many topics. Rereading my post I find nothing of any particular value in my comments and all I managed to do is apparently offend you

Even with bugs the new system is better than nothing but it needs some fixing. You build a star base and request constructors. I am not yet certain this is working exactly right but I think it might be okay. I am not sure where the constructors are pulled from but I do know that it is not just constructors. Any support ship, Colony, freighter scout, any ship with the support level is going to the star base. This needs to be fixed. It also seems like it keeps sending more that requeste
Hmm, I'm not following. I guess what I meant is if I create a custom race and play them as an opponent can I get them to use custom ships?
You will need to play as that faction at least once and build some ships for them. Otherwise, they are just going to use the ships that the ingame designer offers them. They will not create anything new or unique on their own.. Once you build a few for them I am pretty sure
