I am fairly sure that in GCII you could use logos as a part, to place in ship designs. I would like to see this as a feature or a mod.

Well, I already have all the DLC, but it's a good idea. If I were entering, it would be this attempt to do something along the lines of the Dune ships. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=504573875 It probably would not have wide appeal. I was going for opulent and pretentious, with excessive embellishments that imply massive wealth. This was done from scratch and

DW, I have been having several intermittent problems with GCIII and Steam since 1.2 and going ahead with the Win 10 upgrade. I was not having any major problems with GCIII and I assumed these little minor annoyances were related to mods. No doubt some were. In any case I recently broke down and used the compatibility fix for GCIII and Steam, since I did this the problems have stopped and I was able to load a game with all the traits active as you described. I am not going to say that

Steam Support does not offer technical assistance with the Steam Workshop or user made content. This is the reply from Steam on a ticket I submitted for a workshop problem involving the failure of ship designs to upload. Following a failure no ships can be uploaded. This problem has been intermittent for several weeks. I submitted a ticket to SD and I was referred to Steam support By total chance I have been abl

I have discovered that some ship designs will break the workshop uploader and you have to restart c++ to fix it. Until it is fixed you can't upload ships. I am not sure why certain ships cause a problem, but my theory is that it is caused by starting a design from a previously downloaded design. I start most of my ship designs from a hull and not the start cube. If it is a game hull, no problem. Occasionally, I will start with a design I downloaded from the workshop. I completely

I don't know why they are doing it that way or how it involves the DLC parts. When they first opened the workshop to opt in, everything showed up in the upload. Now, any mass based part or custom part is stripped. Anything you upload is just a template. It makes some sense on one hand but it is limiting. All designs have to be equipped and that is often going to make the finished product look a lot different, and of less value to anyone that doesn't like to use the ship designer.

Yeah, I am right with you wp. I get aggravated with the game and the AI occasionally, but I love it. I also hardly ever finish a game. I constantly start new games to see how different factions work out and I have gotten way more than my money's worth out of the ship designer alone. I probably would get further in games if I didn't get sidetracked spending an hour or so designing a new ship. :)

Tj, I would give you plus 2 if I could :) No save game problem, but I was having a beastly problem with uploading ship designs to the workshop. I repaired the VisualC++ and what do you know it's fixed Thanks again pal. Oh, and a remote thumbs up for Satoru for his post on the subject

When a ship is stationed and you click on the planet or shipyard, you will see tiny icons of the ships stationed there. When you click on an icon it will give the option to eject the ship you clicked on. hth
I would particularly like #6. Planetary invasions in general ought to become more complex involving ground, naval, and air superiority over the various tiles of the planet. As it is, planetary invasions in GCIII do not encompass the huge logistical challenge that the real thing would entail.
Yes, you should have to station planetary fighters and other stuff to win over the planet. No improvement should be possible until yo

Personally I believe in being the strongest before declaring a war. Use diplomacy to stay neutral until you have things set up to win. You need more planets than the AI, better manufacturing and research. Focus on building your empire for at least 50 turns and then start researching better weapons and bigger ships. If you are diplomatic you can trade for low level weapons early since the AI get them first.
Was the Startrek mod a fresh install after 1.2? Only thing I can think of is that if the mod was installed before 1.2, then whatever is being checked/created here was already done and is being skipped over. Either that or I borked up something somewhere. Entirely possible, IMO.
No, it had been installed for awhile. I can't recall what the Arcean installation process was. Did it involve more than e

Go to the exe file in the steam games files ( Program Files (X86) ) and right click on the GCIII icon and click on troubleshoot compatibility. If you have any trouble finding the exe file post here and I will give you clearer instructions.

You will find that the big map games are quite different. They are much slower to get started to a high activity level and you are mainly involved in building your empire by colonizing as many planets as possible and accumulating resources. When you finally meet the AI, on the high levels they will have a lot more stuff than usual and they will come after you hard if you are playing aggressive. On the big maps starting position is important. If you want to level out the advantages/dis
Thanks Franco fx, but actually there is an edit-button now. Please keep in mind that the first post is from June 1st 2015. I added another post yesterday, 2.5 months later to continue my feedback from a casual gamer. Obviously some points from the starting post are not valid any more, which shows that GalCiv3 is developing in a good way. 1.2 broke some of my designs with scaling errors. I have not had a problem with new designs. I usually start with a basic hull and I do not use the start cube often. Someone posted that if you don't keep the cube in the center of your design, it will do what you have going on. Maybe that is the problem maybe not. My big problem with Steam is it periodically will not let me upload designs. Just tells me it can't upload at this time.

If you are using Deathwynd's traits mod and you have activated more than 5 of the old traits, You can start a game but saves will not load. This game can't be fixed and you will have to delete it or just forget about it, but you can prevent future problems by editing your custom race traits per above. I had the same problem and this worked for me. There could be other things causing a similar problem, I guess

Some of my ideas are not going to ever be in the game but if I were re-imagining the game I would change the tech tree ages to civilization types on the Kardashev scale where energy is the universal currency. We are currently a type 0 civilization. Type 1 - Controls all energy on their planet. This allows extensive space travel within a solar system.<
