You have my sympathies, Appalachian. Personally, I wasn't planning to play again until Crusade comes out, but the way this issue crops up again and again -- since the release of the base game, afaik -- is somewhat disheartening. If it's still a problem when the expansion arrives, I'll likely hold off until I'm certain it's been nailed down. I, for one, don't want to invest several hours into a new game only to discover the ai's ability to fle

Thanks for clearing that up, Gauntlet03. I'll be anxious to see what you and the other modders do with the game post-Crusade. I've not kept tabs on the discussions here, I admit, but it sounds as though there's more Stardock ought to do to satisfy the modding community. For the sake of everyone who's not entirely happy with the vanilla experience (and those who just grow tired of it eventually) I hope they'll implement your suggestions. :)

More robust, more functional camera options would certainly help matters. A revamped battle viewer is something I had thought was in the works ages ago, and frankly I'm surprised it's received so little attention. Was it one of Brad's little non-promise tentative roadmap items? Not sure where I got the idea this would ever happen (might have just been wishful thinking on my part) but the viewer has grown long in the tooth, no? I also think there'd be a real benefit if
I'm so thrilled for the fans to get their hands on this soon. It revolutionizes GC3 and is easily the best expansion Stardock has ever done! I'm happy to relay what information I can about gameplay, if anyone has questions!
Hey Devildogff, it's encouraging to read your comments. Most of what you've posted about GalCiv3 the last couple of years has matched up more or less with my own

Thanks, erischild. For testing purposes it would be a real time saver, though I think it would be popular for the shear entertainment value alone. There's a slough of things I'm looking forward to in Crusade but this along with an overhaul of the viewer itself are among my top wished for improvements. :)

This is a feature I've wanted for a long time. Considering how GalCiv3 has a very elaborate ship designer, I think having a quick and easy way for us to test designs in battle would be a natural feature to compliment it. Although I'm impressed by what some are able/willing to do with the designer, personally I consider using it to be a bit of a chore as it is, and would never consider doing anything fancy with it simply because waiting for ships to become available over the course of
I am inclined to take the underlying engine updates from FE/Sorcerer King and apply them to WOM and release i as an Ultimate Edition. WOM, I thought, was a good game, just too ambitious (code wise).
Is there a real possibility of this happening? If you could do this, especially if you included the asymmetrical elements from Sorcerer King as options, plus its great crafting system, more quests a

I'm glad it isn't common. One of the last longish attempts I made to get back into the game was when the ai still had its habit of using friendly teritory as a sort of parking lot for its ships... which I gather was resloved quite a while ago. The screeshot looks far worse than what I remember of that situation, so it took me by surprise. Icemania, your comments re the ai's inability to prioritize engine speed are of real concern and I'm sorry to hear that's sti

So I've been trying to decide whether to give 2.0 a try or wait 'til Crusade. Then someone posted this image from one of their recent games and I thought.... Yikes. Please tell me it's a weird aberration and not indicative of what the vast majority of players ere experiencing. https://img-fot

The administrators are a step in the right direction but for my taste I just don't think it goes far enough. I'd far prefer it they were required for new colonies and shipyards, not just starbases. Any chance of this happening?
Quoting mortili, reply 65 I would like if colonies would also require administration Yeah. And shipyards as well, plus going over the (soft) admin cap = ineffectiveness, maluses to production and research, higher maintenance...
I like the idea of having to work hard and face difficult choices as I build up the infrastructure of my empire. The game suffers terribly, imo, from not having nearly enough practical limits on how big I can grow and remain stable, and from poorly scaled mechanics in general. The admin system might help the situation... though I'll reserve judgement until we see how it actually works. It doesn't sound ideal, however. Far better if it were part of a fully fleshed out internal politica

The admin system will be the make or break feature for me. The reason I've stayed away from this game for most of the last 18 months is that we were told -- a very long time ago -- that there would be a replacement for the Large Empire Penalty when it was removed. As I recall, this is how the admin system was originally advertised: a sensible replacement for the flaky and defunct LEP, a more elegant way of making tall empires viable. It must have been discussed by Brad a year ago or more.

Brad, although I like what I've read so far about the administrators and think it sounds like a step in the right direction, would you also consider changing how the bonuses from overlapping startbase zoc's stack? Please add a law of diminishing returns.... Please? I don't want to see the incentive to have overlapping SB's done away with outright, but the crazy, crazy high bonuses from several feel like a total cheese factor, one that cannot be ignored. Thanks. :)

Is there any chance there will be a battle arena mode and a revamped battle viewer? It's incredible to me how much time people spend creating amazing looking ships with the designer... I would think they'd be having lots more fun with those additions. Also, please can't we be told if internal politics are going to be in Crusade?

My interest in Stellaris is growing again now the developer is starting to focus more on the political aspect of the game. They also said in the last dev diary there would be a new stat or resource called 'unity.' How much you have of it will determine how stable your empire is tall versus wide.
