As the yor with my home world I can pump out by turn 60 one constructor module per turn. If starbases are as powerful as you are wanting I could practically surround my planets with them in no time. What you are saying might be fine for one star bases, but it would only take me 6 turns or so to max out a defensive starbase with current mechanics. If starbases increase exponentially in power, then the cost will

MoO2's tactical combat (optional as it is) is loads of fun, I won't deny it. As fleets got larger and stronger, it also became more time-consuming. I would love a new game in the spirit of MoO or MoO2 but I'm not looking to GalCiv to fill that role, and I am okay with that. GalCiv's combat was basically, have your fleet stack attack an adjacent fleet stack. There'd be weapon sounds and explosions and both sides suffer damage. If you have movement points lef

I am not bothered that Steam sales happen - I am bothered Stardock told me the Founder's edition was the last chance to buy a discounted GC pre-order and that turned out not to be the case. But no, continue to ignore that part and be needlessly hostile in your knee-jerk defences.
No, I just think your complaint is ignorant. Stardock saying that was about Stardock sell
Would you prefer no family share? Cause thats the other option.
While I doubt that this will spark a mass exodus from Steam, your logic is wrong. One option is to choose not to use the family share option. One option is to go offline as needed to allow both to play at the same time. Another option is to express dissatisfaction with Steam's service.

Oh my glob I bought the game for $15 more than today's sale price three weeks ago. Everything is ruined. [e digicons]:|[/e] Well, it'd be nice to have that $15 back but whatever. OP, anything goes in Steam holiday sales. Never assume. If you want to buy a thing in December, wait to see if Steam puts it up for sale. Usually, the prices will stay at least somewhat discounted until January 2, and you'll still have a shot at the better discounts that

I purchased GalCiv 3 for 20% off during Thanksgiving. A game going on sale isn't a sign of bad things. Although it's true that Beyond Earth is kind of a disaster at the moment.

I also have to admit that all starbases seem nerfed to me. I mean I remember taking maxed out culture starbases, turning them into terror stars, and flipping the entire map through cultural domination. In GalCiv 1. Nothing in GalCiv 2 or 3 comes close. Thank god. Or Brad. Whomever works best. But their offensive and defensive power was more in buffing the ships near them than in defending themselves.
Yes, they do, but those modules are not cost effective, and even if they were value effective, you can't add enough modules to allow a starbase to be anything more than a speed bump.
You misunderstood my question. I was talking about the starbase support modules that boost ships near them. I found in earlier games it was better to do that and have ships defend them than to try to arm starbas

For people having RAM issues, there's a program that helps cut down on RAM use called "ramrush." I used it to help with Marvel Heroes and its memory leak, but it's been pretty helpful with GCIII as well.
Having an update during the beta process break a save (or in this case a saved ship design) is the nature of the beast, it happens. It's not a flaw in the game. If Paul indeed said that, he probably shouldn't have.
I currently have no invested interest in this particular topic, but... what the heck? "It's beta, not a flaw in the game" is completely inaccurate. Those two ideas s
We are still working on the map generation, it is very hard to balance, but we will continue balancing, for now if you run into this a lot you can up the habitable planets option to abundant.
On abundant, I've found two habitable worlds out of 10 stars. One was a 6, the other a 10. These were out of all the systems within reach at the start of the game, on a huge map. The 6 was also weird because the fl

Not necessarily, just not everyone's impacted. I do not think that makes your complaint invalid, though. I don't see the point of the Family option if only one person can use the account at a time. You should be able to have simultaneous usage, like with Netflix. Also, I did in fact see what you did there. :D
