thank you I wish the achievements gave more information on how to get them but it's not a big deal

Nevermind
Mods have definitely been on for at least 17 hours now. :) Anyway, I should be able to copy MasterTechDefs and related files, edit them, and put them in those directories to see the changes? Or put files with just the changes there? Because none of them show up in the game at all and this was one of the first things I tried
Some
Also I appreciate your advice - I am sorry I was a bit snappish earlier. I did frame my question badly.
I can't get it to run. I installed the .net framework last night and it just says to install it again
Some of https://www.galciv3.com/article/504716/modstech-spatial-manipulation-hypergates-stellar-architect-are-gone-help-me will help. But in retribution there is no such thing as an Altarian tech tree. That tree is from pre crusade. You want to copy the file, be very, very careful to only change the one variable
Edit: Since virtually all the advice in response has been "You need to make sure you're doing the thing you were already doing that didn't work and prompted the post here" I think there's not much help to be had here Thanks to Old-Spider for answering one of my actual questions - much appreciated. I'm not doing that wrong but it still doesn't work.
Gauntlet, Thank you for the work you've done. This was a lot of fun for me last August. The choices were a bit overwhelming but it was like an overhaul almost, at least in terms of the setting/fiction.
Thank you for helping me solve a problem I inadvertently created. :)
Edit: I'm 999% sure this was supposed to be in a different thread. Weird.
I see prefs.ini doesn't seem to care whether mods are enabled, which is odd. Now I'm no longer positive I had mods on. Does this mean that your mod requires mods to be on to run Galciv 3 at all without error messages? That's fine, just checking to be sure. Trying again, then.
1) I only lack the soundtrack. The other 14 are installed. 2) Yes. Double checking the settings it says "EnableMods=1"
Tried installing this, got error messages that 40 civilizations' ship style was incompatible and reassigned generic. Also only saw four modded races in the selection area when starting a game. Downloaded the version for 3.7, used 3.7 and tried the beta patch just in case. Selectable mod races: Clan Zoraster of Zrentak, Lythian Expanse, Jun-Jilar, and Minzari Communes. All of them are assigned the Terran ship style. This is the only mod I've installed.
I would love to have a 64-bit Sins of a Solar Empire 2.
This is very belated and I don't know how I missed this thread when it was new, but welcome back, CariElf. It's good to see you around again. :)
Looking forward to this. I haven't played as much GalCiv III as I would have liked, unfortunately. Hopefully with this expansion that will change.
I came in here for interesting critiques of DLC, and all I saw was people praising capitalism.
It was only a bad deal in the sense that it went away right before I could buy it. Buuuut that's forgivable.
androshalforc, I do not know what you are talking about. Snathi are clearly much closer to squirrels than they are to teddy bears. Your pictures only support this conclusion.
This one is probably my favorite DLC yet. Possibly the best one we've ever done.
I honestly have no idea how you will ever manage to top it.
All I know is $10 can buy me a meal at Burger King, or a movie ticket, or a novel. Which says a lot about inflation in the US.
This entire situation is overblown. $10 is not that big a deal.
I don't see why everyone dislikes the Dread Lords and the concept of them or space sharks as Phaedyme calls them, its a added challenge, maybe its just me but I play strategy games for the challenge not to just sit there and press next or order troops to and /win.
No, space shark is not m
The Arceans and Drath are no longer interstellar concerns, but it is still valid to be curious about their size/strength/etc relative to humans.
Comic book was probably too strong of a term But still don't like the ideas of monsters spawning... different game perhaps.
That different game with space monsters would be Galactic Civilizations. That is to say there's firm precedent. I still hate space sharks, esp in the early game.
