been out of town, I'll try to start a new game tomorrow and let you know if it's still doing it
RunningOn
I did submit one, but haven't heard back yet, the person I spoke with said it might be a while. I haven't had time to actually start a new game yet, but I will and see if it's still doing it
Weird, in GCII you didn't even have to Mod it, when you created a custom race there was a screen where you could go through and select base ship designs you'd made and assign them to the race. It seems like it would actually be a step backwards in functionality to not have such an easy way to go about doing this and having them use your ships was part of the fun of custom races to me. So if I'm understanding right, this is not going to be nearly as easy to do t
Hmm, I'm not following. I guess what I meant is if I create a custom race and play them as an opponent can I get them to use custom ships?
I tried asking this in another thread but it didn't get a response. In GCII it was possible to have your custom races use ships that you had designed. Will that be possible in GCIII? If so how do I do it? I can't seem to figure it out from the screen, the only ship style choices I have to choose from are the default races and I don't see any way to add a new one
In GCII it was possible to have the custom races use ships you had designed, is it possible to do this now? If so I haven't figured out how
Ok, thanks. Is there a list somewhere of all the commands in the shipyard?
In GCII one of the more frustrating things was not having an absolute scale to design your ships against, more than once I ended up accidentally designing a huge hull that turned out being smaller than a large hull or something like that. I kind of am having the same problem with the ship designer in III, it's really hard for me to get a sense of scale for the ships I'm building. This is just sort of a general observation, but how does scaling work? Is there an upp
Yeah I noticed that with the hexes too actually
Ok, well I tried switching to 1280x768 and no difference. The brightness and contrast sliders have no effect, even at minimum and maximum values. Has anyone else encountered this? It carries over to the shipyard too, the game is almost impossible to play like this
I successfully got the game running, but now I seem to be running into a different problem. The whole game is very dark, so dark that I can't even see planets sometimes, and the brightness controls don't do anything even when they're turned all the way up. Is this a known problem? I included a screenshot, you can barely even see mercury. NMy next question, everything seems to be running sort of ... choppy. Especially the cinematics. My compu
ok,did what you said and it started right up! Thanks for your help!
Hello, So I picked up the Beta on sale this past weekend and downloaded and installed it, but the game won't launch when I try to run it in steam or from the shortcut on the desktop. Nothing happens when I click on it. If I try to run it directly from the exe this is the error I get: The program can't start because d3dx10_43.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. I have windows 7 64 bit sp1 D
Having this same problem The error I get when I try to launch from the exe is "The Program can't start because d3dx10_43.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"
Ok, got it. So I've heard people mentioning an open borders treaty, what does this do?
I played a lot of GCII back in the day, and while it was a great game and I loved it, there were a few things about it that sort of bugged me and I was wondering if they were any different with GCIII It used to really bother me how the AI could clutter up your space with starbases and park war fleets all around your planets with absolutely no consequences, yet when I try to do it to them, leave ships in their territory or put starbases up, I start getting threats and demands to remove
