@Ryat: Thx alot, found those screenshots at my Steam account with the possibility to export and use them.

Hi there, started to play arround with the designer to give some ships for the contest I can't find out how to save screenshots. [e digicons]B)[/e] I know how to choose format and know where they should be stored...but which BUTTON to hit? Tryed the usual PRT-SCR, but this will do a print in the screenboard not saving any jpg. Didn't find it in the INPUT nor here in forum... Input shows a button
+1 for this idea...every time clicking thru my stations to find waiting constructors. btw, since last patch a waiting constructor isn't longer able to move toward any other target. is this planned?
After playing some longer games I found some problems regarding the ship designs. Probably I didn't find it, but there is no way to upgrade all ships of a certain design. This shouldn't get a problem if you lack funds, as it could be seen as a debt and be paid step by step. Having lots of cheap ships in my games brings up a huge micromanagement duty by point-and-click every single ship till they are upgraded to the new design. There
@eviator: this is a very interesting point. so far I know the rally points are just imaginary for empires internal use. It would also get an tactical part to find out where enemy empires have their rally points instead of just getting free intel at the map.
Any idea when Alpha drops out? Can't wait to play some testgames. [e digicons]O:)[/e]
Those concept scripts sound quite interesting...I'm in for alpha-testing. [e digicons][/e]
I do agree, Bellack. But...in multiplayer there is nothing more boring then to look on a monitor for ...5-20 minutes... while your comrades do fight out their combat. This will kill off the fun for the other players. I didn't see one game which managed to find a balance in there. The only thing I could remember which wasn't that problematic, was the simultaniously turn with Civilization 5...while it broke stability in most cases, which lead to countless saving-loading-reloading-aso.&n
Seems we have to wait next patch to come, till we could discuss tactics. Anyhow, TBS is also my favor...but I guess it isn't a proper choice for multiplayer. Well...if we think about a 'tactical program' we install on fleets, not unlike shear/stone/paper, so the battles (even in multiplayer) could run in acceptable speed, this might be usefull.
This behavior is not a total bug, it is based upon a UP resolution not to settle inside ZOC of anybody else. I had this in my last game and once I built a starbase nearby, so the planet is inside my ZOC, I was able to colonize this 'free' planet.
Interesting ideas. as for #1: Yeah, the constructor spam short after all colonys are grabbed is a bit boring. To have them as machinery which places and installs the starbase is a good point. as for #2: Even the AI is ignoring resolutions, so also the players should be allowed to break them by choice. At the current, if UP resolution not to settle in each others ZOC, the AI is completely ignoring it if they have a ship allready und
+1 for having more background and statistics
Sounds interesting to me.
@ForesterSOF: I do know this, but you can't force AI to follow the choices of the UP. You only choose the frequency of the UP...even to cut UP off, but I'm sorry, this is not the fitting answer. In any cases, I started a positive vote to force peace the AI ignored it declared war the other turn So far it seems there is no direct connection between UP, AI diplomatics and in
Upkeep for colony capital sounds reliable to me. How about having an 'outpost' first (no shipyard building, no border advancement !!! with outpost, bonus with basic economical buildings) till it reaches minimal population level to form a official colony out of it? @charon2112: I'm sure they will bring tons of balance tweaks, but if you do not have the basic design patterns in prefered direction, there might be no choice left except cosmetics.
@ForesterSOF: Where you think you could alter setup so AI is doing like UP has voted?
@Bellack: Yeah...even Moo3 was huge fun with all expansion and player patches. [e digicons][/e] Hopefully we get a similar great game with GC3.
Well, I also found, that if you vote for anything (like immediate peace aso.) does not work. All before ordered AI ships will fullfill their orders and so you'd be still at war or they are settling into your ZOC even if you signed the treaty 1 turn before. I guess the UP decissions are yet not bound to the alien ship orders.
Thx the response, all have good points to discuss about. What makes me feel uncomfortable with the current system is the concentration of 2X instead of 4X. Yeah, I've played GC1+2 and I really accept GC3 to build upon that system. But at the current all is too much concentrated on eXpand instead of eXplore, while eXploit is just a matter of # of built starbases and eXterminate I currently have no clue about, as combat is not included yet.
Hey, I'm wondering if someone else has similar problems with the early rushing out practice to get the last availible colonies before AI is explosively expanding it's zone of control. Doesn't make sense to just explore the galaxy and plan your expanding empire. You have to rush out and colonize every single availible planet before the AI is approaching. You defenetly get no second chance otherwise. This is horrible and feels like all AI players act l
+1 for this idea.
Knowing the voting power is directly represented bz number of population...there should be other aspects similar. Otherwise only explosive expansion secures diplomatic victory.
Yeah, at least I'd like to see a size filter like in normal designer.
Yes, same problem here. If I save my ships as templates: 1. they are not availible to build 2. I can't load them in the designer or anywhere else Anybody able to use his ship templates?
Shouldn't there be some 'sneaky' backstabbing diplomatic missions be availible to avoid a planet to switch sides?
