You could try to use my Extreme Planet Homeworld - Mod as a framework and change it to fit your wishes. At current it's pinned to Hereward's mods, but this could be altered quite easy.

Using Fences for a while now and could state it is impressing. Having a clean 'icon-free' desktop till I hoover over the fences is a great look! [e digicons]:D[/e]
@krbjm: I'm sorry that I may have caused irritations and I didn't critisize your collection. In fact I allready used some of your earlier ones, before they where offered through nexus. Probably I missed that direct link. Thx again. The only thing I stated is, that I couldn't access those pictures at nexusmods. The reasons not to sign another account are my own, so I ask you to stay calm and don't let your pushed feelings get you personal.
@krbjm Nice pictures, but your work is still useless for ppl that do not have account at nexusmods as DL is prohibited. [e digicons]:'([/e]
+1 for that idea!
Backing this idea. Additionally I'd suggest to have something like a 'switch' for different mods, otherwise you'll have to manually delete and install different (non-faction-or-ship) mods.
Seems 1.2 brought a German native localization. So far there is no request for it, project paused. [e digicons][/e]
Update: Changed file order into Version 1.2 to fit GC 1.2
Sure, it's all in the XML. I alligned my own extreme-world starting planet mod on Hereward_Hills planetary diversity mod. Have a look and give credit if you use it for your idea. Should be no problem to change your HW into 26 overpowered one...every other 'ring' is also customizable. Did you think about balance?
Nice one. Is it compatible to your other mods?
I guess there is a conceptional problem with your idea. However it sounds interesting enough to think about. Currently I managed to mod-in extreme world as starting planet. ( Link ) In first tries, there was simply no production as it lacked production tiles, but my shipyard was operational from population number. Coming back to your idea, it seems you do need a hook for your shipyard, whi
Update: Version 1.1, added some more files
Hi all, since GalCiv3 didn't offer a localization on release, except Russian [e digicons]B)[/e] , I managed to find a skilled translator on Steam groups. GermanDogs | N!GHTM4RE | 74 offers the files in his GD Steam Group . Unfortunately he decided to overwrite original english text files. &nb
Update 1.1: - more diversification in methane planet style - added moon - added possibility of rings Info: Generation of a planet texture without continents is quite a problem. Allready started a request thread here about. Any idea how to solve would be appreciated. [e digicons]B)[/e]
Hi, with my new mod project Methane-Breather-Mod I come to a point where I need some special graphical assistance. I have to confess that here my background with photoshop comes to an edge...but if someone could give an advice, I'd possibly be able to adopt it. The idea is to use gas planet for homeworld purpose. I'd li
Sounds fine to me. Just an idea out of segmentated programming: [Mod] Extreme Planets - and here modder's specification, in my case - Methan-Breather-Mod While we stay with Planet Traits Mod as base, we offer diversification in the second part. [e digicons]B)[/e] Best goal might be to get a compilation of all compatible mods lately.
This MOD could be changed so the Andorians have a frozen planet.
Exactly what motivated me! Go ahead, give me Credit and make your very own IcePlanet variant. The more diversificated parts, the better. Lately we could combine them into a single mod file.
@Franco fx Yeah, thx for your ideas. I also read Nivan's novel. Nice one! The original 'methane' world is origin from Hereward_Hills. His idea is to have an usual earth-like planet that has serious problems with greenhouse effect, not using GasGiants as background. In my own imagination I see those continents as 'floating' stable areas...probably I should follow your advice to cut out landmasses for next version to avoid missunderstandings. So, my f
@Hereward_Hills Yeah, I suppose it was caused by a corrupted faction. As I deleted it, I don't remember the exact name...only know it didn't have a leader picture, only a building on screen. Anyhow, my testrounds worked quite good and so I released the mod right now, first without the Alliance-Union factions, to allow general use of the Methane-Breather Homeworld. You could find it <a title="Methane-Breat
Allways wondered why Stardock's factions only grew on paradise earth planets...while species from space should live in different enviroments in my eyes. After searching the forum, I found quite promising ideas here in Stardock's forum to do a step into that direction. Got some great support from @ Hereward_Hills and now built Methane-Breather Homeworld in cooperation with his <a href="h
Great, thx @Hereward, worked for me too. Will post it in Steam forum and at Stardock ticket support. :-) What u think has caused it? As for me, when hitting new game, I could not see an actual faction. All information/graphics was empty. After choosing any faction it showed again. I guess it was a corrupted faction file...but not sure at all.
Yeah, am very impressed by getting things working. As from today (July 23th) I get a very strange bug...anyhow which faction I choose from start, I am assigned any randome one out of the pool. Allready tested in any combination of mods and also without mods...so it is a GC3 general bug. Did you recognize any micro-patch over night? As soon this is solved I'd release the methane-breather-mod. :P
Well, Hereward has managed to bring the breakthrough with serving the fitting PlanetArtDefs to fit into the system. I'm glad this wall is taken and looking forward to finish the mod in time now. Thx for all support. As for the Gas giants, well...I'm still thinking about them to be home for methane-breathers, while they have to adopt tech to settle on oxygen worlds...and the opposite. GC3 is still only competition of one race instead of a twirling alien uni
Ah, thx @Deathwynd for the update. Sent you a PM for possibly further exchange about. So, I could use GasWorlds as regular colonies, but not as homeworld as game prevented them from being used. Understand so far. What I could think about is to mask a usual planet with the gasworld ArtDefine, but that wouldn't really solve it. I even started to work on ContinentDefs.xml but didn't get it working.
