Upon initiating a fight and selecting view, the battle viewer never showed up. The map and UI was still there but completely non responsive.. Was just about to ALT TAB out & kill it when i heard the zap of lasers firing. It was 2 7 ship fleets that were pretty evenly matched and being stuck on 1x it took awhile to resolve its self. If i randomly clicked around on the map where the BV buttons should be i could tell the buttons though hidden did their stuff. Blind clicking

Start a game with Intuitive go to the tech tree screen and BAM you no longer get free techs. You must pick your free techs right away from the screen right after the adviser. Pragmatic ideology does not have building to give points per turn like the other two do. Was this intentional? Seems like a big disadvantage
Some buildings show a % boost while others have a +x. Example entertainment center > Moral +2; amusement park > moral +15% Is there some rule of thumb on how to compare these kind of differing stat buffs?
When zooming in (mouse wheel) on the main map the game sometimes crashes as the display changes from icons to detail of ships & starbases.
the game randomly crashes upon entering the battle viewer. Happens ~1 in 6. Occurs in AI and player initiated battles Playing Terrans on tiny map with 3 opponents. Funny thing, never had this crash in 5.3 with many many fights, but i do recall others having this issue

FAST REPAIR (like GC2) Did you know that upgrading a ship fully restores HPs? Make a minor change to the ships design (minimize upgrade cost) ... Upgrade ... 1 turn .. full HP
Yup, Have had/seen all the bugs reported in the OP. " After the galaxy gets busy (when the other races build starbases and all that) the game starts to freeze as I zoom out or drag." This one is the really bad one. Some times i can continue with an exit, and re-load , sometimes not so much
