I would like it if you had to openly commit to one tree, then pick a secondary one and the third would be one were you get a penalty with civs that have it. This would keep in place the freedom of choosing any tree while instituting diplomatic order it is currently lacking. So I could be ⅓ of everything but diplomatically id be registered as whatever I chose like in galciv2.
Exactly! Divine is so right, its a multi dimensional matter that never repeats and specialization techs only fog the choices and variables. But oh my god that makes the game so fun, to bad tech ages slow this to a degree.

God this is so exciting, I'm close to my first war and this info is invaluable. :) I like the way kinetic weapons sound, I agree with the sifi reasoning.
If more ship had it that would be cool. Ships launching fighters and capital ships fighting in epic battles. ;)
Don't you just love these little surprises the devs give us though? I was shocked to see a great new ideology tree format that was organized and had fun stuff. All around solid.
I am surprised at this, 7 is alot. Thanks for being the first to say this. I haven't gotten carriers yet, but it would be nice if I could designate a specific design to use, though the auto upgrading was great thinking by the devs. :) Would be nice is there was a limit of 1-2 and techs could increase the model amount. Or one module limit and a ten fight limit at max? So with cost sand size tweaks it should be fine. It would be a pita if you had to pay every
So I and many others(with intergraded GPUs) have had problems with the screen freezing while zooming on the main map. After ever build the setting reset and I redo them, recently though I turned off anti-alising and my fps has gone up exponential, as well as no issues while zooming. I only had it on anitalising 4x though,but it might be something to look into SD, or if you are a person like me that had this issue turn it off and see the difference. DARCA. ;)

Thare are plans to do this already. Gas giants and either dead or uninhabitable worlds will become usable in some way. But nit all three.

criteria for starbase balance would be: 1. What amount of ships should a starbase be able to take alone. 2. To what time in the game does the balance tip one way or the other. 3. What hull type. I'd rather have it so some ships are still needed to defend starbases, otherwise I doubt the devs could find a sweet spot for weapons a majority of players would agree with. DARCA ;- )

Dude, putting more ships in the Starbase IS the answer. They can only defend starbases to make them safe from other fleets and no one likes OP starbases either. More needs to be known about firing order too. DARCA. ;)

They must have been trying to prevent farming, its the choice of some and the price of fun though. Global makes it better and more useful as well so I'd want it that way.
Yup I played alot of BTS too :3 Specialization techs as they are called are not quite supposed to be breakthrough techs, more of a improvement on the breakthrough that you just researched. Darca '_;
Yeah combat has alot of stuff coming later this month, range, rate of fire, speed. Etc. And with different weapon categories having different stats and then on and off type defenses, it will be more than filling and strategic.
