I am trying to decrypt the hardcoding without luck, so I'm asking Trims2u (who knows programming well) to help me with it, so maybe we can end up teaching the AI to build less farms when Trims comes online on Steam later today? You know how many times I read a post title and think, "No." Only to then read the description and come to agree with the post? Lots. I support this idea as it makes management easier and thus makes the game better.
Beautiful birds, Hawk like birds that hate the Yor and live in atmospheric mountains. Complete with a game history, tech tree, tech descriptions, and art. "Making farms 1pp would trigger the 1pp upgrade bug. Basically if an upgraded 1pp structure is destroyed you lose the ability to rebuild it. So, that won't work either." @Mabus: The hell it won't. That's a great solution with a minor defect compared to others, its rare for that to happen because it would have to be conquered and that's just the game. The planet would have to go without a farm then, or at least run the minor risk its like power plants or research center
Set the AI value to zero on high class farms, lower the food, make them a 1pp, its not as bad as gaunathor made it seem. Even just make the techs give the bonus instead!
I've never been a big tbs fan or player and it takes a interesting game to make me be one, this is just it. I love the game, the AI, and after some self tweaking it ms perfect. I enjoy galciv that much more now. ;)
I seriously thought money was the motive of such evil. Ya know, kill a deer get the antlers, and start celebrating... Wasn't everything peaceful on earth in lore though, apart from the time we started killing the Xendar*? Its the 2200s, I would imagine at 2050 life on earth will have a lack of war due to a lack of dictatorships and regimes. IIRC no two democracies have ever been at war. And star trek sucks because its poorly written and is ignorant to science and facts.</p

@Mabus, Gaunathor: You know, i think it is easier to make the food bonus on farms smaller instead of hiding the UI and changing the improvements? Players can still build on the tiles and not know it, but now they won't know it because you are assuming people are to stupid to figure out the new way. I honestly hope we thought of everything before we changed something this big, we could have made farms one per-planet, we could have simply reduced the bonuses? My games are fine with reduced

We have the permission to edit the game though, so no worries.* I think there is DEFINITELY a way to do some hardcodeing, it crazy to think that a game made in 2006 is out of our reach and intelligence to properly edit. In tropico4 there was a way to bypass HC by making a file with a matching extension and adding in the proper ignore tags and then the code we want. Same principle applies here. And I have some compilers too. &n
It has been said that editing the hardcoded data is impossible because C 2005 dose not work on vista or later. However, what is wrong with adding new hardcoded data files. Its been done before in other games, it can be as simple as having a text file and saving the file type as XML dll or whatever. Also what's wrong with decripting the files then possibly editing it with its proper language and then put the files back? There is always a work around and the internet has the tools.<

I already changed the GAs to SPs, because it isn't that big of a deal since if you conquer a race and get the special improvements anyway and if you are a custom you deserve it as much as another race. hey, why is food in percentages now? instead of luck can we rename it "Optimization?" adding the invention matrix to my redo list. Naw, luck just increases your base combat role, instead of rolling 0-4 damage it would be 1-4 with 25% luck. That's why I think it would be more sifi if it were called accuracy. Ya, I hear about courage alot, but can't seem to remember what the answer is.
