+1 I have a laptop, with an integrated GPU and a dedicated NVIDIA one. I'd like to use Shadowplay to record, but since it thinks it's just a window, it can't. Shadowplay can't record the desktop or things rendered by the integrated GPU, so it can't tell borderless windowed from regular windowed.

As mentioned in one of the dev streams, they are looking at alternatives to Bink 2, though with the need to support transparency there aren't many options available to them. Regardless, I'm sure there are some more to come - one of the dev streams mentioned that they wanted Jenna out for release, but her animated portrait wasn't completed, so they decided to wait for an Expansion. Expansions and DLC might also contain new races, and any new (major) races wil

It should be fairly easy for me to make it so that the first one unlocks the next tech. It wouldn't mess up trading like the current method does. It's not quite ideal, but would people prefer it if I did that?
Am I disappointed that a game advertised as "The largest strategy sandbox ever" doesn't have much of a campaign? No, not personally - I have never touched a campaign scenario in any GC game (or any other strategy 4X games if they can be avoided). It is not what such games are about IMO, and I don't believe Stardock have ever advertised GC3 as a scenario driven campaign game. As to crashing a lot - ~60 hours of v1.0 / 1.0
The No Specializations mod broke with 1.01, the first 2 options now show up in tree view. Loading my save game is allowing me to research specializations I had already taken again because it now places the first two options from each specialization are now added to the tree. For a new game this can still work out if you always take the third option. I'm also thinking that removing the specialization restrictions would w

You want to mod FactionMapColorDefs.xml ColorDefs.xml defines (btw, it's Definitions, not Defaults, AFAIK) the colours in the games - if you want to add new colours, you edit this. FactionMapColorDefs.xml defines what colours can be used on the map (ie, what you want). If a colour doesn't already exists, you'll need to add it to ColorDefs.xml too. You can check out my Map Colour mods if you want to, it's fairly simple.

This may be the same issue as #IMY-637-46001 https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/Tickets/Ticket/View/778097 Whan an improvement with true is destroyed, it seems to clear that flag for all planets.
I like it. We get some interesting facts and the first thing that happens is everyone denies it is true because it doesn't describe them. Then you get a list of how it each of us is different. No one seems to want to admit that we here on the forums are not the norm. Personally, I am proud of it. But I also know not to ignore all those people who are starting on beginner and staying there. Some of the
The "One Per Civilization" refers to the benefit of that trade resource. You only benefit from having one. If you have more than one, you can trade those to other civilizations. (You can trade away your last one too, if you don't care about that benefit.) Hehe, I had exactly the same idea. Unfortunately I don't have time to try things out right now, so it'll have to wait a day or two. Also, Global scope makes it not even work for the player, let alone any of the AIs.

Im slowing it down, but Im seeing in games where the AI is vastly ahead of me in research by 15 or 20 techs or more. I make specialized research planets, so im not sure why im so far behind. Just wondering if this is suppose to target only me or them as well.
Well, this is embarrassing. From what I tested, it

If this is going by the Metaverse, it's only the number of players who finish games. It's a hell of a lot easier to finish a game on a Tiny or Small map than on an Insane one. Also, it's easier to start a Tiny / Small map to test mods, custom factions, ship designs, etc, due to the memory and cpu usage involved.
What's the difference with those color mods?
All they do is add extra map colours for when you create a custom race. The colours it uses is stuff already in the game, but just made so they work on the map. This means if you're making dozens of new custom races, you can tell them apart when you play, instead of them sharing a colour and you getting confused.

The only crashes I've experienced have been my own fault from modding. This place has a lot of crash and bug reports, because it's the place (one of the places, anyway) to come and post crash reports. Some are from beta builds, and thus not relevent. Besides - they only way they can fix crashes is if they know about them, so regardless of whether the game is worth of release or not in your eyes, the best bet is to submit a ticket about it with as much i

They release it because it works for 99% of people. Just, apparently not you. And since you didn't beta-test (I assume), they couldn't have known about the bug and fixed it for release. In Prefs.ini, there should be a line under [Gameplay] EnableMods=1 just in-case it's not working to enable mods in-game. If that's not the problem, tell me the structure you've installed the mods in. There should be a folder for the mod in My Games\GalCiv3\Mods, and then Core, Game, ParticleScriptDefs, Text folders (may or may not be needed, but better safe than sorry). For simple changes, there should then be files in the Game folder. (just checking that ther

1. The Colony Capital isn't the same as the Civilization Capital - each planet has a Colony Capital (much like how each country on Earth has a Capital City). 2. That's tile is just the first one it selects (which is why it puts the Colony Capital there), so when you try and build a terraforming improvement on a high-quality, it can't find a place to put it and just defaults there. I agree that Terraforming should be grayed out if they can not be built.
