True Fullscreen?

Hi guys

Great game, am loving playing it.

One small problem though, i seem to get quite poor borderless windowed performance (in all my games actually not just GC3) is there any command switch or config edit i can do to force it to go true full screen rather than fullscreen borderless?

Thanks

I'm not sure what you're asking... if you're thinking it's a window because your mouse cursor leaves the screen if you have dual monitors than there is a setting in the options to clip the cursor to the screen so that it no longer leaves the map.

It is weird you get worse performance because every single game I have both options I get a 0% performance difference between the 2 so I never not do borderless anymore.  I do however have an ATI card so it could be an NVidia thing.  Also everything I have read about borderless window talks about how since windows vista and newer handles the hardware acceleration between games and windows is negligible.

i think how you do borderless window mode is disable fullscreen then make rez 1920x1080. its what i do works well enough as far as i can tell. from what i know is that preformance is yes you do get wrose but i think it has to do with the way windows handles a window vs fullscreen (resource allocation)

Yea its definitely running fullscreen borderless and not actual fullscreen, if you click on another window on a seperate monitor the focus changes without the primary monitor minimizing the game (which happens when its actually running fullscreen), also if im streaming TV with silverlight it carries on playing, all other fullscreen apps cause silverlight to stop playing soon as the fullscreen kicks in.

Also the performance is not good, averaging 30fps, system specs:

i5 4690k @ 4.5ghz

660ti x2

10Gb memory

vertex4 SSD in sata3

I'm sure if i can get this to run in actual fullscreen mode my performance will increase a lot, its like the sli isnt supported in windowed mode?

I have a laptop, with an integrated GPU and a dedicated NVIDIA one. I'd like to use Shadowplay to record, but since it thinks it's just a window, it can't. Shadowplay can't record the desktop or things rendered by the integrated GPU, so it can't tell borderless windowed from regular windowed.
