I may not remember Star Control as well as many of you for various set of reasons, but let's not overcomplicate game, or that thing will never be able to take off. Better go light and see how it goes, at least for a start, and then fill your bergen with heavy stuff later, if your back could hold it. We have GC and SoaSE for strategy. As much as I like to see certain elements added there (in GC; SoaSE is almost ideal game for me), I understand they don't have place for them th

Well, they are your allies, it only would be wise to let them use your airspace. Maybe even share Survey ships' findings, to boost both nations. After all, you're allies. Otherwise, it is very strange alliance. I'd rather see you dead little girl, than to be with another man static and clear alliances in GC, than some backstage scheming, changing sides three times a day, framing other races for your wrongdoings, and simil

I don't have exact list, but I gave my opinion above. Your airspace will be opened for you and, in case of multiplayer and locked teams, for your team-mates. You can give your allies permission to use your airspace, and either allow them to use your infrastructure (starbases), build their own, as long as their influence starbases do not influence you to prevent borders' change, or "enjoy the travel as is". Unless some scripted "PLOT TWIST!"©™® and sides' cha

Since Stardock are authors of game, and their own distribution platform, they could add that easily. Moreover, if there are/will be additional background books (not just about elemental, I don't mind "Drengin fairytales" ;)), I would gladly buy them as DLCs for a game, to read either insid

If everyone will be wearing isolated suit and go through decontamination upon return, I suppose first contact won't end with latrine occupation. Further contacts, especially all that diplomatic stuff, should require preliminary studies of other races atmospere, cuisine, list goes on. But since it's GC3, not GC1 and it's not prequel, all those measures should be done long ago, when Drengins were curly, and grass was greener. In case new races be introduced, your idea could

Any sovereign race could close its airspace for anyone. Even now there are certain areas no one allowed to fly through, and those zones are closed even for country's own citizens. You can offer certain corridor to other races, should they request one (or offer it as a "good will gesture"), and make it either free, or take some toll, like I said above, especially if you will allow use of your services, like starbases, and their modules (speed ones, for example). Or you can ask them

Excluding Stardock's games, those are games I played and enjoyed a lot (or didn't, so I warm you). In no particular order: Euro Truck Simulator 2 . Extremely and oddly relaxing thing. I mean, what could be entertaining in simply driving truck hauling cargo somewhere at cropped-down version of Europe? I tried that IRL, it wasn't as entertaining as it is here. Probably because IRL there are people who not only jumps into your lane, ignoring the fact your fuel

If we both agree on tactical use of mines (within fleets' combat), then I don't understand why we have this discussion. I never proposed blanketing space with mines (unless I wasn't that clear), I propose use of mines tactically, within combat (or right before it). You launch them from your MRLS (or any other convenient launcher), but instead of missiles/rockets with conventional warheads you use cluster ordance, filled with mines, probably with proximity sensors, and laun

There's no just flipping a switch and going "oh hey, now it's on GoG!"[/quote] There are games both on Steam, and on GoG. Somehow I don't think it would be that difficult to disconnet steamworks, even at cost of reduced functionality lost due lack of Steamwork. At first we need to determine what is tactical combat - everything up the army level, or games like those Gaunathor listed - Jagged Alliance, Frozen Synapse, Avernum, Geneforge, Avadon, or practically each and every so called "RTS" game - they are anything but "strategies", or games like Blitzkrieg series, Cossacks seires, Total Annihilation, Wargame series (European Escalation/Airland Battles)? For example I don't like "competitive" Starcraft, it is too pattern-oriented, and requ
