You can double click on an ideology and it will unlock that ideology, but not close the ideology window. You cannot double click on a technology selection in the tech tree display and have something happen. You can, however, double click on a technology selection in the technology list display and that will select the technology for research and close the window. They are not exactly consistent, no.

If I understand right, what is being asked for is a mechanic to select multiple buildings, then click on Destroy. So far, that does not exist. In the name of UI improvement, I would love all places that allow selection to allow multiple selection to enable things like bulk deletion.

I think it should be part of an aggression/reaction behavior set based on difficulty level. If you want a serious challenge, that would be a good part of it.
But thanks for at least answering 1 of my 16 questions now.
I think it is unrealistic to expect point by point replies. There have been other such suggestion threads and commentaries. Having a Stardock employee dedicate the necessary time to reply to enough forum posts to not look like they are playing favorites, both here and on Steam, would be time not spent on impr

Good idea. A little Beta can make a big difference. However, I suggest that we should ban the word "soon" from the forum as inflammatory language. This thread is already ancient by some impatient standards!!

I don't look at it as a balance labs vs pop. I look at it as keeping my population growing towards a pop cap and keeping that pop cap ahead of the growth. I generally start with a hospital and two farms on every planet, whatever infrastructure keeps the populace happy and productive, and the the rest is the planet specialization, in this discussion, labs. Late game, I add a one or two pop tiles through terraforming depending on what growth rates I have achieved. An
Maybe i didn't explain it correctly, i have not a single point to spend if i reload the savegame! If i spend them immediately i can get 3-4 Techs for free.
You are correct. The behavior was pointed out to the devs. Since the devs don't really believe in restarting for a perfect game (all games are perfect already, you know) it is not considered particularly gam

Mass annihilation simply for the sake of shorter turn times, have you no shame? :) Seriously, that is interesting information. It helps me understand my much more modest rig and what I can expect and do with it. I had already done the 16 gig of ram, and that made a bunch of difference. The rest would require a rework from the motherboard on up. :( To me, it shows that Stardock has made the software as flexible as possible about its

It is my understanding that several folk at Stardock regularly troll the forums. They have stated this several times. There have been replies from various members of the crew on various threads. They do not make a habit of acknowledging every thread or posting a bugfix schedule. Considering we would rather have them working on things than getting caught up in forum discussion time sinks, many of us consider this a good decision. So, given the responses we do see,

I have no idea what they plan on things like starbases and other such mechanics. I haven't seen or heard anything with hints I could interpret. I blame Paul for being inscrutable. I do expect continuing work on the AI. I think it will be incremental rather than dramatic, but every bit will help. As has been discussed, the higher level difficulties and extreme maps are not the primary demographic of the game, but Brad being Brad and Stardock being Stardock,

What good can it do for Stardock? Judging by the past, any changes at all are going to get a "How DARE you remove/change/rename my favorite feature?" kind of reaction. They may as well keep it under wraps until it's real and save themselves a couple weeks of hyperbolic grief.

January has been said, but not when in January. They have most of the month left. Then again, I believe that it is worth making this update good and solid ready, so February may happen and it won't bother me.

Why would "a potential newbie to gaming" ever obsess enough about an obscure game feature to start mucking about with .ini files? They're busy tackling a hugely steep learning curve. That option is there in the prefs file only because experienced folk like us might have such passionately stubborn fixations. This is especially true for players new enough to the game that the present system of economy management is the actual norm they will learn.

Pragmatic is not intended to be "Neutral". It is intended to be something closer to "opportunistic" The devs have said they were deliberately avoiding the good vs evil dichotomy. They are after an unstable three-fold balance of ideologies, all of which are aggressively competing against the others in any way they can. The ideologies seem to want to be the basis of both alliances and conflicts. Right now, they are mostly about conflicts and I expect that will be b

Influence affects the size of the influence borders displayed on the map. Diplomacy affects the general attitude of AI players. They do not directly affect each other except for things like close borders and intrusions into influence areas affecting diplomatic attitudes negatively.

Sorry to say, but that is not correct. I have Precursor Technologist specialty in my current game. I have three Research relics with a total of 10 modules. I have 100% bonus total listed on the resource bar. This matches the bonus displayed on the planet screen when I hover over Research. I have 40%, 40%, and 20% listed on the three relics, which matches the number of modules present. The readouts all calculate to 10% per module, both hovering over the reli

To my understanding, the issue is not about what you are seeing (what's on the screen at the moment) but more about what each of the factions see as all the other factions are moving. As the number of factions meeting each other grows along with the number of ships each factor has sailing, the interaction of all these views and viewers grows on beyond exponential. Meanwhile, all sorts of pathing decisions are being made to make sure ships won't look stupid driving into eac

The game does multitask. The behavior you point out is a deliberate decision to show the player those battles as important events, not a lack of capacity. There is some question over whether the quick battle animation is quick enough, but there is no question that the game multitasks quite nicely. Try moving one ship on a very long move and then moving another ship. You will see both ships being moved at once for that turn's length of movement. Otherwise, it

I think your suggestions are excellent. I doubt I have the moral discipline to follow them all at once. ;) However, I am in the process of fine tuning just those setting towards just those directions. My latest trick is to throw one or two Incredible level AIs in among the randomized Genius players. I can't take it with all Incredible players as the bonuses become way too obvious. I randomized the asteroid/nebula/black hole settings. It does inter
Or am I horribly misinformed and that's already in the game?
Yes, it is in the game. Hover over the blank space beneath your build cue and you will see the accumulated manufacturing at the moment. That will be applied to the next building project. It might or might not apply if you have a planetary project come at the end of the cue. That has been reported both ways here on the forum and
