This one change will go far to make sure that I will rarely if ever play this game again, which in its current form I have nicknamed Age of Starbases. Almost all one does in this game is to make and upgrade economic Starbases, what in heaven's name is the rational for allowing for more SB's? I play Godlike, mostly huge maps vs all 12 AI, sometimes just large vs 7 random AI. I know that from everything I read, I play this game quite differently than most. My custom race is geared to my vicious style of play. Honestly, I'd not dream of taking anything except Malevolent. Once in a while with many planets around I might start with 3 free constructors but I have rarely done that lately. Malevolent all the way for me!
From my Godlike game in my original thread I can assure you all of a few things. 1) Since there's no pop up warning, I have no qualms about reloading if the Prag race who's HW I attack has this trait. 2) At least pre 1.81 when an AI race attacks a Venerable Prag races HW everyone in the game DOW's that AI race. This happened to two races in my game. There needs to be a pop up, both to warn the human player, and to give the AI cause to reco
Venerable is ridiculous! Again I will state that having EVERY race DOW is absurd and way too much of a penalty. It should only be that the other Pragmatic Races DOW and there should be a pop up warning stating that before your transport lands since it isn't possible to be certain whether your opp has the trait.
Yep, this is a major nuisance. I wonder how this bug crept in and got past QA?
Yes, build this on a planet for +10 food and +2 adjacency bonuses. I decided to build this on a large PC world (always starved for food in the early game) and as expected the effects of +10 are halved, but this seems better currently than sticking many farms on that PC planet.
It still isn't shown and I am at a total loss as to why!
One wonders why this can't be fixed back to the proper way it was a couple months ago. I think it was 1.8 that reverted back to the way it was way back when. Constructors and SB building need more work. Too many clicks are wasted unless you want to automate it, which I don't, as I find it not efficient. I play vs Godlike and can't afford to not micro everything.

OK for my next Godlike Huge map game vs all 12 standard AI, I decide to launch with Loose Clusters rather than my usual Tight Clusters. There are more stars now and subsequently more planets to colonize so that slow tech speed a bit as far as I understand. Nice win for me using your June 26 AI build. T119 tech victory (yes research speed is normal) H/13/G. Huge, 13 players (all 12 AI and my custom race, Godlike). Race is Thalan tech tree and Thalan type lone pop 16 HW, Intuitive (a must for quick start) and Zealots (a must as I attack quickly and need the +15 IP) along with some good traiits and less harmful negatives. I don't want to be an arms dealer. When I was learning to play this game well, I made the mistake of selling those ships you get from graveyards to the AI's for cash. After a while, to many of them thought that I was weak and ripe for conquest. Yes, ripe indeed as soon I was dog piled and a ground troops from several AI were eating my ripe fruit.
I'll stress again that this trait needs to be better balanced!! The way to do so is to simply have only the other Pragmatic races DOW. In my ongoing H/G/13 game (Huge, Godlike, 13 players (all 12 AI's and my custom race) using Horemvore's AI mod (great improvement!!!) the AI's are rather warlike (like one would expect in real life). Thalans also have the rediculous Venerable trait. Yor invaded their HW and was soon swamped by the other AI's as everyone DOW'ed.
My OP custom race that I use to win at Godlike and without diplo-alliance cheese is an offshoot of Thalan. I use Thalan tech tree and Thalan type of pop 16 HW with no other planets in the home system. I want a really good HW! I take the Thalan ability of Intuitive along with the Drengin ability of Zealots (I want +15 Ideology when I conquer a planet). Hives is the first thing I take with Intuitive as the building is SO GOOD. Next comes Interstellar Travel and the following drive tech

Re: AI Tweaks ..nice to see on Godlike around T95 that many AI's are at war with each other. Re: Venerable...LOL at this silliness. I waited to take the Arcean HW last eliminating them and still everyone else DOW'ed me. This needs to be better balanced and simply have all the remaining Pragmatic races DOW.

Your AI tweaks are an improvement. I was beaten to two planets that I may have been able to colonize vs standard Godlike
