I'm ok with random tiles generally, but yeah, it would be nice to decide where your own capital is. Optional maybe?
GalCivius
I guess because it's not released yet.
Hehe, love the last two! And new ship styles/parts are always welcome :)
Adjusting difficulty mid-game sounds really like a nice idea. If I could throw in suggestions: It would be cool to have some features as options, like: - play with or without mercenary bazar to hire merc ships - play with or without galactic market to buy resources - play with or without hyperlanes/hypergates I realize the devs put a lot of effort into those things, and in general I do like those additions (of the X
Personally I do agree that upgrading standard ships is too expensive, hardly worth it, with few exceptions (upgrading sensor ships, transporters or colony ships to longer range, better sensors or engines is not expensive - it's more about the combat vessels) I'm a bit more sceptic on the "upgrade _anything_" issue - I mean if you can turn mercs into anything this would probably collide with some of them being over-capacity (I think), which could be OP if upgraded furthe
Thanks a bunch, very helpful :)
I usually play with lowered settings for resources, relics etc. But there are events adding those. Can those fire several times in one playthrough? At least that's my impression. Generally, I'd like to keep those events (esp. since they include ideology choices), but a bit toned down so that they either give less new resources and /or occur less often. Because I don't like it when at some point everyone just swims in stuff, even when I set them to uncommon. <
why cant we change carrier fighters still?
What do you want to change? If it's just the look, I guess the XML experts here know a way to mod it, but it's also pretty easy with the in-game "customize your fleet style" function: Edit the bomber, sniper, guardian type using your own tiny hull templates. That way I got carriers to use my own ships.
Thanks for the swift answer :)
I'm kinda confused how population works for silicon-based: 1. Bubble help for silicon says those guys digest Durantium 2. However, bubble help for cities says I do need Promethion So, do I need only one or both to get more pop? I understand I do not need to build up food via farms and can get rid of the farm tiles toplace any other improvement there (like with synthetic)? But I still need cities, just not using normal food? <p
Glad you like it :) The 3d part is done in Cinema 4D plus some postwork in 2d a la Photoshop.
Hehe, yeah - I do often take long breaks from gaming and so modding. So maybe I'll popup in 2 years again with more gfx... Or maybe a tad sooner for a change ;)
Errm...or monday ;) Ok, here's the link, ca. 25 MB: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4wm8f936xs6poyp/Leaders_v3.zip?dl=0 I included those for which I made citizens, whether they are old or new. As said above, some have also been reworked for better detail.
Ok, I put them up for DL tomorrow or sunday :)
Ok, this is a bit of a thread necro. It took me a long time, but I made few more leaders, reworked some made previously, added few more BGs, but most importantly also added citizens for 10+ of the leaders/civs I created. So if ppl are interested in those - do you prefer to get the individual factions via Steam, or just like before the gfx per download for own modding? I got to admit I put most attention into making the gfx, not so much into a faction's flavour text or anything
Yeah, I remember they were not as big ages ago - I just wondered they are really dwarfing everything now. It's certainly not a huge prob, merely cosmetic.
Hey, thx guys- I guess I give it a try :)
That starbase looks nice indeed. I never tried to create one myself - do we have to create a separate structure for each possible expansion of each type? Sounds like quite some workload...(which is why lazy me is shying away from it ;))
These seem to be GFX glitches, do other people get those too? (edit: this is Crusade, using the most recent patch 3.7) 1. When watching fleets, cargo-hull ships appear larger than anything else, sometimes so large they overlap with other ships - intended? 2. The 2nd issue is about the Espionage screen: the selected faction displays in a bigger image to the right, but it seems only those with a (Stardock-
Hey thx for the hint. I always thought th e in-game editor is nice since it's simple to use and saves me quite some time, but when you hit the limitations...Maybe I change to xml editing indeed...
I really enjoy making custom races, guess I'm not the only one. But IMO having the human male showing up in the science screen when playing certain aliens is kinda immersion-breaking (sometimes I do get a robot instead, but I think we cannot select what to get) So unless we can do that already (friendly hint appreciated) it would be cool to have some option to customize it in a simlar way we can choose leader fore- and backgrounds. (Or is that possible i
Thx for the swift reply :)
So I got 16 GB installed and I'm not playing the biggest maps anyway. I usually go with "gigantic" - there my RAM is shown as yellow. It plays ok, wondering if more RAM helps turn times though. What exactly are the consequences of having "yellow" RAM as opposed to green? Will the game run significantly better in the same map size when I add another 16 GB?
FWIW I just found out my earlier post in this thread is moot since we can already save ship styles from within the game (without using steam) when we just rename them.
Ok, I managed to get a screen: It is a modded game, but changes are all on custom races, not anything deeper to the game. I'm not sure how to reproduce it - it just happens to me when a ringed planet is in the back - the ring is simply off
