Just a question, do you have to be in the age of ascension to develop the massive scale hulls? I've got the required tech but I still can't select it. That would also explain the existence of the three ages in the first place for me. I've got the tiny, small, medium and large laser based ships, but now I want to build a huge dreadnought monstrosity.

I love that Venator design (one turret less than in Star Wars but that's no problem). What's the second ship based on? Or is that an original design.
I'm making some laser weapon based ships, and this is my medium-sized one, the exodus, from above/the rear. I'm posting it like this because of the shield effects. I don't know what's going on there. BTW, is there a way of forcing the shield effects on in the designer, or when looking at a starship? (It'd be a lot easier to show them all in that case) <img src="http://i1301.photobucket.com/albums/ag113/theplasmawolf/Shield%20Effects%20Exodus_
Ok, thanks for the explanation. So it's 5 percentage points added for each increase in the building's level. Thanks :)
I've taken a look at three different planets I own. The one on the left has 4 research stations in the best adjecency setup. That's all research the planet has. The one on the right, has a circle of 4 research stations and a data archive. In the middle hex, I put the research capital. The third planet has no research stations whatsoever. When I put the planets on research for the full 100%, I get that the planets have 19.4, 21.9 and 19.3 raw research. But I can't work out
Those look nice. Did you use parts of various races?
How much exactly has the large empire approval penalty been reduced by? One of the perks you can choose when creating a faction eliminates the penalty entirely (patriotic if I remember correctly), so I'd like to know a bit more than just the word "reduced" :)
I've made some small, medium and large ship designs and in the galactic map, they all looked like the appropriate size. In the designer, I've seen some glitches in that: the designed ships were displayed incredibly small, in either the big list or the list of template images that are sorted by size. I haven't seen that glitch since the latest round of updates anymore.
Ok, the idea is nice, but I think you should have some more. A set of three for each engine?
Thanks, it works great now.
Those look great. I just don't know what those 4 hexagons on the last image are supposed to be.
That looks great. A cute little cockpit in between two massive wings. It gives me the idea of it trying to catch something and it doesn't matter if it's on the top or the bottom. Time for a new constructor ship design :)
After I put the mod at the designated location, how do I activate it? I can't find the options anywhere.
Plasma_Wolf_4X I really don't understand how anyone could find this so stressful, or indeed at all stressful, seems a really odd thing to get stressed out about. There are plenty of other choices you have to make in the game like when you settle a planet does that get you massively stressed? After all you

I'm not buying a game so I can stress over things. I can't make mods (well, I probably can but I simply do not have time time, really

GalCiv 3 is my first Galactic Civilizations game and the reason for me to buy the game while it was still in beta, was because of the seemingly endless choice you had. In all things, from something as simple as a design for a fighter to the design of planets and the entire civilization. To restrict this choice, even a tiny bit, would be a horrible mistake. My first time buying the game may then as well be the last time. Make such restrictions optional , which they esse
The first time I got to see a space mobile suit was with StarFox 64. Here's the 3DS version. Yours looks very nice, but could you give it a shield? :)
--Colonize event screen should list the planet name and it should be prominent. I have seen some suggestions of also including the planet position... perhaps with the minimap? How about a button that let's us delay the colonize event until we've looked at the map!
Whenever I get the "colonize" screen, I click cancel to check on what planet I'm at and
I also saw the tilde thing appear in the load option. What's the idea of that? I've saved under the name Game1 or Game2 and when I check load. I see ~Game1 and Game1 still the old save file... Is it supposed to work as a measure against accidentally overwriting something?
But at some point, even that isn't enough. Not having to go through the designer to choose a template and then put all weapons back where they belong (It's impossible to remember all the time), but instead having a new ship version with all the lasers replaced by particle guns (when it's possible, the particle gun requires more mass than the laser, so when you first discover it, you may get the issue of getting 5 particle guns for 6 lasers), is a much easier and user friendly thin
Damn it, I had made a race with this quality yesterday. Oh well, I'm sure it'll be fixed soon enough.
It looks nice, but I'd like to be able to go for a completely customizable colour scheme, rather than a selection of schemes. I also haven't seen the edit button yet. Just delete and copy. Maybe another thing to add is more customizability for the home system. Some point system for the class of planets you can choose perhaps :)
I've always wondered about the huge losses that a destroyed ship would lead to, so I've designed something that can come into battle as one ship, with a powerful reactor, but if it takes heavy damage, it can leave just as quickly. Or if something important is about to explode, the three ships can actually split, leave the damaged main hull behind - as a bomb :P - and then retreat. In the event of a ship's loss, you only lose 1/3rd of your firepower (and manpower), instead of all o
I have another question. Why are my ships so small? I've built a ship on with the "large" starting block and every item I put on it had a scale of 100% or larger (maybe not in every axis, but you get the picture). But the preview image is horrendously small and the ship looks smaller than a car in the shipyard...
