I've checked the directory and my template is in there. I didn't check on how to find it back in the designer, because I made it again from scratch (went better than I thought). Now I have another question (and maybe I asked this before), how can I upload an image in this post? Can I even do that in the first place or do I have to upload it to a hosting website and then put the link here?

It's not there. I am 100% sure I saved the thing as a template, so there should be a file right? Where could I find that? In my frustration, I did not save the game, but because the designed templates are available for every game, that shouldn't be a problem, or is it?

If you're going to hide them until after the colonization, you shouldn't make them too important, because you can't hunt for them. You could also add a research item or an ideology to make these resources visible

I've run into a bug where press the "turn" button and then I have to wait forever. I can select any of my units, so the game clearly doesn't freeze, but seems to wonder what it should do (Let me continue of course!) I've run into this bug twice. The first time, I was able to circumvent it by saving the game (which I can while waiting, saved as "Game1"), then reloading. When I reloaded, I immediately got the animation of a flagship being launched (not sure what my flagship

I have tried the ship designer too (obviously, it's fun), but I also have the problem of not being able to design what I have in my mind. Similarly, I have no drawing skills (I can picture many things in my mind, but none of them accurately make it to paper). One of the problems is that I get overwhelmed in the many different parts. They're all numbered, ok, but that's just about all the information you have. If you want to add an antenna to something, it's fairly easy

I'd like to add the following to the idea of ship designs. As you progress through the tech tree, the part's required capacity is gradually lowered, which means you can put more parts on a ship. My idea would be to allow you to build a chain of your own ships, so you'd have M1 -> M2 -> etc. for something you design by yourself. The next mark of the ship should become available once it can be built, which automatically removes the old

It's dependent on the capacity of the fleet. You probably have a maximum capacity of 12. The small ships, like the cutter, defender and gunboat take 3 capacity, so your maximum number of ships will then be 4. Research can improve the capacity (I think you have to look for "logistics" in one of the trees but I'm not sure).

Thanks for the answers. I had actually read about the reasons to specialize a planet before I posted :) still a useful reminder. It's a bit of a hassle changing my planets in to specialized ones, but I'll give it a go anyway. There's another question I've got. When I upgrade a ship (for example from M2 to M3), it suddenly has a lower operational range. Do you get that too? It's a bit of a surprise and sometimes very annoying because I have to give up the pressure..

Being new to GalCiv makes joining in on a beta probably not the best idea, but I've done it nonetheless. I'm quite happy about what I see (this is what I expected from the game), but I am getting lost on several things. I also have found some issues, which I'll put first. 1. In the Shield, Point Defence, Armour optimization tech, the techs which reduce the cost, actually increase it. At least, that's what it says in the "unlocks" section of the description. The text ab
