Might already be known but if not,, it's cute. Go too Galaxy Type. Now look below galaxy size and press the Load Map button. Click on arena and select Load. Then Start.

A Thalan diplomat comes and has a trade for me. "Great, just let me speak to my advisers for a moment and ill get right back to you." The Thalan calmly replies, "No you must decide now." I get a bit frustrated when I cannot minimize the trade window so I can go too the diplomacy screen to see who I am dealing with. lets say there are 20 races out there and I haven't been seeing what they all are up to for the last number of turns. I don't know if hes a enemy of
The very last thing I get concerned about when it comes to a 4x is graphics. The first Is depth, immersion and most importantly if I can squeeze a very memorable game out to reflect on. A good 4x game should last days, not hours. Simply put; The prettiest birds are not always the best fliers. The graphics are great and so is the art. I would even settle on 16 bit for tactical fleet battles and ultra insane map sizes. [e digicons][/e]

Ty Androshalforc. I revealed the map and could find no elerium. Started a new one again same issue. Start another on just huge with same result. So I changed the resource settings to abundant and now elerium is showing up. Below is a screen shot of the settings. Elerium will not show up on the lower settings but will on the higher. It is a easily repeatable bug. </p
Overview: 1.Is the AI getting free strategic resources or support systems? 2.Why is no elerium spawning on the insane map but lots of everything else? (set on rare) Also strategic resources don't seem rare when set on rare unless there place holding the elerium that should have spawned. 3. Anyone else come across this? So I am playing an insane map, all resources and planets are set on rare except for anomaly's. I meet the Altarians and eventually we ar
A good example could be how Endless legend hit the nail on the head with open/closed boarders system. (along with the diplomacy point system, its practically a ingenious system for stopping tons of exploits and quirky AI stuff). Now to avoid human error; if you try move a unit into someones territory that have there boarders closed then you would be asked if you want to start war. In RL boarders and airspace are a very big deal especially were nationa
I haven't heard or seen any definitive answer if there was going to be closed boarders implemented. I would like to see closed boarders added mostly for the extra passive strategy layer it adds. Lets say the Space Bobs are smack talking the Space Toms arts of war and the Space Toms have had just about enough and want to declare war. Between them are the Space Joes. Tom declares war on Bob. Bob being the wise leader
I added a ticket as well. Judging by the feedback I've seen I'm sure the endless war immunity bug is well known and already squashed for the next patch. On a side note; It is turn 365 and not one shot fired in my space yet which is pretty unique and is giving a nice cold war feeling for a 4x. I got fleets just waiting at the Iridium boarders for the battle of the bulge. I have been mobilizing forever and I'm gonna start parking them right out si
So I am playing the immense map and have not been able to declare war on the iridium for over 160 turns. My power rating was much higher than them but about 15 turns ago my positive rating turned to negative rating and is still shrinking with every turn. I will still mop the floor with anyone who attacks but but the data is wrong and the poor drengen will declare war on me one turn and the nex
I think it would be wise to reword the difficulty levels more transparently. Traditionally in gaming. when you click hard you assume your playing against the AIs best, then you have settings like ridiculously hard and so forth. Also from a captain obvious point of view, normal would be literally normal stock AI. As far as deep blue beating Garry Kasparov it is a very questionable if the machine acted alone being they kept it in a separate room out of site. There is allot of
What is the foreseen RAM usage for the final largest map with all 100 opponents?
Yes you will definitely need more RAM , at 75% of the largest map cleared, my Ram usage was at a constant 5.4g out of my 6g and would spike often making it almost unplayable. I went and got 2 8gb sticks and it runs flawlessly now at 16g. I really hope we wont need more than 24g, (hopefully only 16) of RAM for the final largest map. With all 100 opponents on the largest map, I have a feeling it may end up being that way. If the final map is 4 times as big as the current largest
From what I've seen miniaturization seems to shrink the weapon/equipment size, what was once, "paraphrasing", 11 mass become a 9 per-say like GC2. What kind of confuses me is, lets assume I make a ship and load it with equipment, weapons and max it 85/85 capacity. Then I build it on a planet with the hyperon shrinker,,,, well it seems kind of redundant. So now I got a ship thats 75/85 from my hyperon planet and I assume I have to refit it to fill the extra space?
Until I see the custom race editor options as well as espionage wont be in on release I'm not sure but something along the lines of this.
I have had it were Ihave killed all the humans but they still got a rally point out there and there shipyard and ships became pirets. The humans were still asking for peace even though they didn't even have a ship to there name or a planet. [e digicons]:S[/e]
I have seen this too. https://forums.galciv3.com/458845/page/1/#3503058
The turn button is multifunctional. It is basically a auto check/things to do list for you. It the turn button is telling you that something is idol or needs attention. When playing with lots of planets or even ship yards it comes in handy. You will notice your turn button -lower right corner- saying "shipyard Idol", "idol colony", "research" or idol ship. When all those tasks are completed you can complete the turn. I usually cycle threw the check list first until "turn" comes up
You must have missed this screen. [e digicons]*_*[/e] As is your points are valid. The tone of wording you use implies its a finished product in which is misleading with out the picture above. Hmm,, maybe you are talking about Sid's new game though. [e digicons]>_>[/e]
I am positive it is not from the council resolution. I have seen this bug in 3 out of 6 games on one small map and 2 of the largest available maps spanning from beta "the small map" into this recent one beta 2. My usual galaxy map picks are set to uncommon for star and planets.
I have run across this a couple times now were a habitable planet cannot be colonized by both the player and AI. I have done some searches and found a couple posts back in march about this with little feedback. This is causing a couple problems. The first is the obvious that we cannot colonize them and the second is the AI seems to keep making colony ships non stop to colonize them instead of other ships as a priority. So I make a colony ship , send it to the planet, it goes o
I have always enjoyed the GalCIV humor that give the game its own little breath of fresh air. The Yor have a great sense of humor. But, I honestly don't know how some of these star names even got past approval and force me to conquest against the poor Drengen who colonized it just to change the name in game. Allot of good names but 5% of them really fell threw the approval crack and really effect immersion. Its like having Miley Cyrus pop up on the screen an
It would be nice to have an option to adjust how much range life support gives. Is this possible?
have ar simualar hread on this as well https://forums.galciv3.com/458393/page/1/#3500501
The point is to be able to adjust the scaling for ship range to add more customization for play styles and game turns. That is why I changed the title yesterday and also added the edit update on the OP. We could get into the semantics of logistical meaning but then again star dock uses the term in place of command ability in which there can loosely fit in to the general definition of logistics. In fact the first time I played GalCiv2 I researched logistics to get more sh
