Next patch is supposed to make modding more "robust" what ever that means. You can post your issue here and maybe they will add fillers.

From what I can see the only difference in the 2 default particle scripts is the ScaleMod, the couple hundred lines in each script that I checked are identical. If you want to scale this too, copy the Large script into a new xml (Append Method) or bottom of the original (Replace Method). Then replace the word Large with MilkyA or some such. Save. Hook it into your art via UnderFogParticleEffectScript.

You playing Crusade or above? 5 Planets to a shipyard. Hubs are Key. Flat bonus building surrounded by the same or % based if not. (Space Elevator, Captial are 2 center Hub buildings) Economy Starbases, thier bonuses stack. Specialize planets, you only really need 1 Mega research world on small - mendium maps the rest should be Manufacturing\Economy.

MapSizeDefs.xml from the newest expansion pack's Game folder. (EXP4_Retribution if you have that, EXP2_Crusade if you only have this etc). Copy it to ... Documents\My Games\GC3Crusade\Mods\Example Mod\Game (Example Mod name can be changed to what ever you like) Open it up in a text editor, Notepad++ preferably for proper formating and less chance of typos. You need to set the game to use patch version 2.33. Right Click game in Steam - Properties (Bottom of the right click list) - Select the Betas Tab on the top - Click the little arrow and select [galciv3classic 2.33] Side note, use patch 2.80 for the crusade campaigns.

I do not see the issue in the screenshots (Not checked the saves requires to much work, removing all my mods etc :) ). You have picked Time Travellers as an ability and get these 3 techs for free, they show up grey (Any tech age you are not in has a darkened tint added too it) in the screen shots because you have not progressed into the tech ages required for these techs, cause you got them for free.
