Amazing work Stardock! I am looking forward to this on Monday! [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]

Seilore, There will be a new 'universal' engine that will require 4 cores/8 threads and 16 gigs of ram that Stardock has been secretly working on. This engine will 'merge' the real time exploration fun of Star Control Origins with the turn based patience of Gal Civ III into one universal space game. Currently the Xraki are in Alliance with the Yor. Since the Yor are non biologic they Xraki see them as tools. The Xraki went 'below' and r
Spacepudding, What size map and rarity of planets do you play on? I have spent a looong time playing Gal civ (1550 hours), its my favorite 4x game. I have a game I am playing on that has been ongoing since March. Its turn 350 or so but i play 2 or 3 turns.. and come back a day or so later. I only play on extra large insane maps with rare habitability of all planets and either spiral or 'even distribution' . I still end up with way too m
Derek, (my sons name btw) Thanks for the update. I am a hard core Insane (see Ludicrous) map player. In fact I mod Ludicrous UP as far as it will go and then play from there. Thank you for keeping that option in. I7 8700K OC'd to 4.8 32 gigs Corsair DDR4 @ 3200 GTX 1070 superclocked. M.2 drive for Windows 850 EVO for Gal Civ, Civ 6, Xcom, Battletech, SCO, and ESO. I did reinstall Witcher 3 as well. I might also reinstall SwTor....
Mr Paxton you are amazing and that support team of yours is above mediocre as well! [e digicons]:O[/e] [e digicons]:O[/e] [e digicons]:O[/e] [e digicons]:O[/e]
I built a new rig in February, I only play on ludicrous. The map sizes have not appeared to change in size for me at all. My ram is 32 gigs of ddr4 with 12 threads OC'd to 4.7 ghz. I zoom along in game even after turn 300 and I am still sloggin it out with 4 factions who are still a major threat, add to it that 100 turns ago I got the damn Dread lords event! I still have not uncovered all of the map there is STILL at least 30% left which is where those bastards are hiding. All o
I have played Gal Civ III since its inception at Alpha. I have over 2000 hours playing so far. It is by far and away the best space 4x game on the market. Its Ai is superb and its depth of gameplay will keep you awake long past your time to sleep making the 'one more turn' a horrible reality to you the next day. The latest expansion brings me back to how challenging and deep Gal Civ II was with all its expansions. It really is an amazing game.
Ah thank you for the information. Am I better off using the 'ez mode' bios over clocker or is it ok to boost the 'cpu cache' clock also up to 4.5?
Not gonna delid the processor. Ill stick with the Hydro series and stay at a comfy 4.5 gighz which is just fine. I know I will see 'some' gains pushing to 5 ghz but I am very happy at 4.5 maaaaybe 4.7. I haver SERIOUS questions on the bios oc tools that Asrok is showing me. There is Cache core clock which stays at 3.7 and there is 'boosted clock which shows at 4.5. I changed the multiplier to 45 (4.5) and saw all values go to 4.5ghz including cache clock. However <
Well the Issue is a currency used to build population which in turn rewards the player or ai with production. I hate to ask but how did we do population and production in GC II? Can this mechanic be simplified yet still offer the player another lever to pull to get results in game?
Merlex, What difficulty are you playing on?
Marigold, for me Rare is not rare enough. I go into the settings and boost the number of planets on insane but reduce from 640 the total number of Hab planets (this is outside of game settings) down to 500. Rare means rare! On a crazy insane map I want to travel far and long before I get to the next. On that map 100 turns in with 25 and plus me we get about 7-10 planets total per empire. This extends the ages a good amount as nobody can steam roll on research (due to having doze
Very nice job Stardock, Thank you!
Thanks for the FoW fix.
They stopped having the research building very early on and moved it 2 techs out to Xeno Experimintation (the research line). I see we are missing assets and Rhonin already is addressing it.
I'd like to do more 'management type functions directly from the galaxy screen as well. I am not sure if this is possible but again the shipyard planet assignments should be as simple as licking on a planet and draggin it to the shipyard and getting pop say 'do you want this plant to sponsor 'Vulcan Prim Shipyard'? Y/N.
Jaffo, This was helpful. I shut the computer off each day and start it up multiple times a day. Do you think this would be a problem?
Almonty, Thank you. I will review that when I get home.
The ai is colonizing very well in 2.8 and doing a good job capturing planets on Genius. Planet build out is also really good and I have seen dumb placement but only because there were no 'optimum' places for things.
Wow that settup is AWESOME! I am going to go I7 8700K +32gig and a GTX 1080 but I only use 1 monitor. What is your storage? Are you using NVME? SSD? What sizes? What is your cooling solution for the I9? Did you go liquid or a beefy air cooler?
I asked over on techspot how vulnerable we really are and this sums up what I really wanted to know.. Do you believe you will be targeted and infected? <span style="color: #ffffff; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; f
Question about the 'Security Flaws' found in Intel Chips. So if I am behind a firewall and a router and use a VPN and its on a 'home computer' and I pretty much only do gaming on it. How can I get hacked? I understand that I 'can' be hacked but dont' I first have to be 'found'? If use zero patches (we dont need any stinking patches).. won't it be 'life as usual? I ask this as I was finally going to get an I8700K next month and build a new computer. My current
We have some hard facts about patches and performance hits. It looks like there will be little impact on gaming performance. However writes to SSD's can take a huge hit.... https://www.techspot.com/article/1556-meltdown-and-spectre-cpu-performance-windows/page4.html
Well I , going to build a new computer next month with an 8700K but....????
I know a couple years ago Brad said to wait for HDMI 3.2 or something along that line. I do not play shooters are twitch type reaction games. What is the advantage if any of having a 100hz or higher refresh rate vrs 1ms response time? Why can't I just use a regular good quality 60hz monitor which has 1440p reso?
