Multiple interconnected sliders suck. They are bad UI, and it's good that they're dead and not coming back. A slider is for when you have one thing to control. When you have several, you use something suited to the task. At some point these complaints about sliders start to feel like people want it because that's how it was before and they're used to it, not because there's any advantage to it.

This has been an ongoing source of confusion since forever, as we keep getting situations where one post says Vista and another says 7 is the minimum. They really need to clarify it one way or another.

I'm sorry you guys will never have your point, the man is right, if you want people to help you at na alfa stage just throw some invites and charge a measly fee since shit, its me who is helping you. I don't recall during the sign up process any interaction through steam. I believe the Stardock website handled the purchase.
You'll get a Steam key once its out. Put that key into Steam and it'll download it. Right

So don't worry, lots of people are going to see the founder star names. It's also said that 78.4% of stats quoted on the net are also made up.
See, that's totally false. Everyone knows it's 41.3%! ;) Though the stat I cited is not one of those. <a hre

There's nothing to download if you do that, as noted above. It'll likely appear later. May be best to hold off until Stardock gives the go ahead. (It doesn't actually show up in my steam library at all right now.)

I am not sure if Co-op is in the first Alpha but it is a requirement so it'll get in. I don't think the first alpha allows large maps yet -- we want to get basic compatibility out first.
Okay, cool. Long as its coming before release. :)
Quoting Frogboy, reply 8 I think the biggest surprise will be the multiplayer. The nature of GalCiv (on tiny maps in 1 v 1 games) works out remarkably well. I hope you make the multiplayer scale well with larger maps as well, preferably with a very strong element of diplomacy. I'm really looking forward to that. Do it for ParagonRenegade Brad, do it for me.
Me too. I wan

Saw the note about multiplayer in the feedback this time. I hope they're not fixated on multiplayer being tiny deathmatch maps. That is the absolute last thing I want. Let me play coop with friends on a big map and I'm happy.

Definitely, corruption was the single most hated thing in Civ III. Not sure why we'd want to go down that road again. At the end of the day, the normal conquest victory condition sucks. That's what this is about. Having to wipe out a bunch of insignificant planets that post no challenge just to meet the victory condition is pointlessly grindy. Civ V actually did that better - you just need to take the capitals to win the conquest victory.

Actually, quite ignorant question for which I am sorry but I didn't fully follow the topic. Is it said at what time the Alpha keys will be out? Nobody has said anything yet, but since they are in Michigan (UTC -5 +1 DST) I would guess it will be either midnight their time (4:00 UTC)

Well, it looks nice. The enthusiasm from the person in the video is obvious. Movement looks good. The video doesn't really show much "gameplay" though. It's to be expected from a pre-alpha product, but I'm not feeling the same level of excitement out of it that others are.
