UTC -3, only for a couple of hours around 9-11pm, on nights when I'm not already occupied by Age of Wonders 3 or Reaper of Souls. That's life with a baby for ya.

Plus you can watch the forums as all the 'minute 0' people run into a zillion problems and figure out what hardware doesn't work, what crashes, etc. Especially for an alpha, where there is a semi high probability the game may not even work on your system, don't skip work.
So much this. Yep, exactly. Valve wants more people using their store, and they accomplish that by having more games there. They get more games there by making it really easy for developers to work with them.

We're going to be submitting them in some way, it wouldn't be hard to look for ones that are already there.

Wow. I do agree that this looks like a way to spice up the end game, but this does look like a formula guarantee

For what they provide it's a pretty good deal, but for a pre-sale on the elite edition, it's an even better deal to sell directly (and keep that cut) and give out Steam keys. You'll be able to buy directly from Steam in the future, if you prefer to do that. But buying from Steam or Stardock will get you a Steam version of the game.<br

You can play it on any computer if you log in to Steam (or have already done so once and can go into offline mode). That's kind of the beauty of Steam. I'm somewhat concerned that billions of people isn't a sufficiently finite unit to use as the base input for all production. Just how populated can planets get now?
There are definitely some 'configurations' that are only possible in 3D. For example modelling a dense 'core' galaxy, with the outer parts ofthe galaxy being less dense. The main issues are that as humans we are actually pretty bad at visualizing in 3D. We don't even like verticality, which is why the upper shelf in retail is called a 'retail death sentence'. Or why popular toys and candy is always lower,

There's genres where there is a benefit. This isn't really one of them. A 3d map with unrestricted movement is going to have absolutely gigantic amounts of empty space. If you solve that problem by putting in restricted movement (aka: phase lanes, jump gates), then you haven't really accomplished anything except being able to tick a box saying you have a 3d map. You could flatten that into a 2d map and the gameplay would be identical.

There was simply no reason to pick good events, ever. Unless you wanted to make your life more difficult by being "good", which didn't really do anything anyway because you could just use Xeno Ethics to make yourself that way. Roleplaying is not an excuse here. If there is three options, and only one of them ever makes sense from a gameplay perspective, the system is flawed. Putting fluff on it doesn't change that. I mean, if you really want to deliberately make the game harde

Not sure what the benefits would be, but it was definitely a trope in recent SciFi that your remote outpost could support families, if you wanted to do so. If nothing else, add population to a starbase would increase the influence it has slightly. Would definitely make protecting those bases more important. I know, it'
