Why would a ship need to level up to get a special module? How does that make any sense at all? I've got an entire army of R&D creating fancy weapons, why would the crew need to be level 4 before they can get it installed?

If they don't want to make ship battles fancy enough that they become the focus of the game, I really don't think they're going to put a mini RTS in for planetary invasion.

A.I takeover or maybe ur faction becomes untouchable untill you come back? Maybe like a persistant game, I don't know has stardock hinted yet how they are going to do it?
People have been playing these games in multiplayer for years. It works pretty well.

You will probably rarely do this. Honestly how often do your ships level up. Mine take awhile.
Sins is an RTS, and it only applies to capital ships and titans, with no custom ship design. Very, very different from Galciv. Having your ships in Galciv gain experience with
By the sound of it, these are all in house. The problem is that it may take (numbers out of my ass) 20 man-years to make a game, but there are constraints on how those man-years can be used. You can't throw 20 guys at it and be done in a year, since some parts have to wait for other things to be done first. It might take 2 guys a year and a half each to get the engine stable (since they're using a custom engine developed in-ho

March 27? cheers
No, they're still selling the elite edition. If they do decide to stop at some point (probably closer to release), they'll make an announcement beforehand like they did with the other (now ended) founders edition.

When you get right down to it, this game has a shocking lack of ponies. I mean, think of how awesome it would be if Rarity gave commentary on your ship designs? :D

Will you formaly declare war against Diablo and its fans?
That seems unlikely, given that it's also at the same general timeframe as Titanfall, inFamous: Second Son, and Age of Wonders 3. Plus it requires a $100 purchase to get in. Reaper of Souls has no reason to be afraid. :) <

That's a decision you have to make at the start, because it impacts so many things. They're probably not going to wake up tomorrow and decide to rewrite things to use a 3d map. This is a great thread for people that want to debate the relative merits of 2d vs 3d movement in strategy games, but it's too late for it

There's a race that serves up another race as a delicacy. It's probably better to bring some levity, otherwise stuff like that is going to get rather depressing.

This has been done a lot of different ways in different games. I'm not sure I like reducing the units effectiveness, as it has a side effect of lowering the effectiveness of a deep strike tactic (sneak some guys deep into someones territory with cloaking and take a world where they can't react to it). Making my ships slower and weaker makes it harder to do that. If it's not going to go fine grained enough to track things like ammo or feul, maybe it should be a more straigh

Endless Space had an economic victory, which was pretty much "I've made so much money that I really shouldn't be able to lose anymore, so I win." A lot of 4X games don't have something like that, so even though your production and technology are so far ahead of everyone else that it's basically impossible to lose, they make you play it out until some other condition is met. Really, what's needed is smarter victory conditions. Brave New World really did an interesti
