What I have been doing is reducing the field width, with no attempt at first to find anything, then hitting idle ship again, and the focus will move to the ship and the circle around it will be much easier to see. That said, there should be some way to handle this that doesn't requiring rolling my mouse wheel to focus in; some kind of highlight --- maybe a big arrow overlayed? Me eyes aint so good no more...

I think it is way too early to suppose that the abilities as shown in the live stream are anything more than suggestions that are swimming about in the developers' minds. Especially as the release has been moved back. As has been said, the idea of an early access is to kick things around. Having done a bit of programming in my career, personally I wouldn't think of modding until about 6 months after release, but that, of course, as always, is just me.
Okay, a discourse in price is not necessary I apologize but the devs seem firm on their release date. I think the game is shaping up well but some of the fundamental concepts still confuse me as to whether they are really the best system possible and if it is possible to vary these experiences.
IIRC, the release date has already been moved from April to May. I am not going to be at all surprise
IIRC, the error you are getting when trying to submit a ticket may be that you are trying to upload a supporting file that is too big for the site to handle. The answer to this is that any larger files (such as dump files and some others) should be supplied by providing a link to the file that you have put in Dropbox (dropbox.com) or another "cloud" hosting service. Dropbox is free, by the way. You can test this by trying to submit a ticke
This and some other features of the Betas have been intentionally left in (according to the live streams, for example) so that players can test stuff that would otherwise be difficult. But come release, the Galaxy is going to get a lot colder....brrrrrr!
The OP is right on about needing a shipyard scanning tool. The list on the right is helpful but, especially as the game gets bigger (should I say insane?) ability to cycle through shipyards would be great.
Perhaps it could be part of scanner tech.
Quoting Bamdorf, reply 5 Now, from what I have read, this is just about the worst abuse of a customer that could possibly happen. The entire game divided into 20 DLCs at day one? Yipes!! Actually, I don't think this
Ok, I have had 24 hours to ponder after reading the article and the responses concerning the goodness and badness of DLC. So here is my response, in two parts. 1. There are many kinds of monetization and there seem to be more always on the horizon. Crowd funding, Early access, standard retail 1-time (is anything sold this way any more?), expansions, DLC, FTP, rentals, microtransaction
Sometimes the go to function doesn't appear, etc. Yeah, that's a good desription. Note: My ticket has been processed and they were able to reproduce the rally point issue from my save game! Oh Well.
I expected that it wouldn't be too widespread or it would have been reported (at least a search of these forums would have revealed something). However, I suspect the problem may be tough to reproduce. I tried several times after a failure to save and load a game and see the problem. Only the save game I posted reproduce the effect for me, and three times in a row. HOWEVER, I just tried loading it again after restarting the game....and it worked fine.</
Hi, Wondering if anyone has seen these and/or has a comment. They seem very minor things, but they gets real annoying on big map. 1 I have been noticing for some time that in most cases, not all by any means, that the rally point table has an annoying habit of requiring an extra mouse click or two in order to assign a shipyard to a starbase or a rally point. To explain this as best possible I use a new Tiny game, playing a
Hey, being stupid last year, I will have to pay for them. But...bring 'em on, more is better!
Looks great. A couple questions.... 1. In Beta 5 how many AI factions can be enabled for a given game...in your screenshot you seem to have 9, but is that the limit? 2. Will custom factions be available to fill out a MP game? 3. Oh and one more...will we ba able to import pictures for our custom faction leaders? A bit of fluff, I realize. Thanks!
To clarify, THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DESCRIPTION. What it *actually* does is apply an empire-wide bonus to ship hulls.
Holy Batman! Yikes! It never occurred to me to check this possibility out. 1,000 thanks.
Good point that I am going to think about how to include ---- namely --- if you are considering additional RAM there is research to do as to what your current rig and Operating System allows (i.e, both your hardware and software). Silly me, I thought there were only "Home Premium" and "Professional" -- of course I have Windows 7. I have been resisting with every fiber of my being the idea of "upgrading" to windows 8 whatever. In fact I think I
I have submitted a ticket on this also. It does mess with your diplomacy for one thing!
This absence of the pop bonus for the benevolent trait has also happened to me, just as the OP reported (and this was with 72.2). Yep, I should have ticketed it. Will next time. [e digicons][/e]
Today the UP voted to prevent wars. I kept checking to see if I could make a DoW, but could not. Then the Terrans up and DoW on me!! (I was the Drengin). That's just not fair. Course, I wanted them to, but that is beside the point! There does seem to be some issue with DoW. I guess I need to try to document it when it happens, lol
1 - Starbase building is a bit tedious. I generally use rally points, which helps a lot (I mean click on shipyard, click rally point, and choose the current starbase, then queue up a few constructors) though it isn't optimal by any means. 2 My understanding at this point is that resources (elerium etc) are just for building specific items. Might change in the future. I have also seen Paul say on the livestream that asteroid mining (other than for the resources)
Adjacencies aren't useful if you can't use them. Or am I missing something?
What I gather from at this point is that with 16gb ram, you don't need as large a paging file....your need goes down as your installed ram goes up. I switched to 256 mb min and 2048 mb max (2 gb) which seemed to be a popular choice. We'll see how that works. Also, I discovered windows process explorer https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx wh
This is the first time I have seen someone question the idea of disabling virtual memory when one's computer has at least 16 gB memory. Not understanding the windows process, I would venture to say that logically why wouldn't you add a swap file in that case...just in the (perhaps extremely rare, to be sure) instance that Windows calls more more memory than 16 gB, as a falll back. I mean, if as is assumed by those who suggest turning VM off that memory past 16 gB is not go
/snip/ I also said, I realize it is beta right off that bat. I was just trying to target, what I felt like, were flaws. The more opinions the merrier! Whether we agree or not. Cheers
You needn't apologize... I think we are really at the point (and with the attitude of the Stardock devs, may alwa
Hi, I ran across a short YouTube presentation that gives some solid tips about fairly simple changes that help your computer run more smoothly. You might want to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpqk3qrRIrQ Good luck.
