I have played on ludicrous with my home built system (roughly 2 years old now) successfully (no horrible lag I mean). It is ludicrous, though, to be sure. I haven't tried it with a large number of players though ---- I figured the idea of a very big galaxy is to make the distance between habitable stars very big also, sort of like I think the Milky Way galaxy is arranged (and why we haven't had daily contact with other intelligent life). I have 16 gb, 4 gb GTX 960 vi

I tried a commonwealth just to exercise the mechanic. What happened is that my friendly neighbors targeted the new commonwealth for attack, and my fleet was too far away to prevent invasions. Looks like all I did was create low hanging fruit for the AI. Oh, and I could locate my fleet that way because people didn't want to attack me considering my total strength, and also because I had developed good relations with enough of them. And has been mentioned,
I did just get an email with the steam key. So all is well.
Hmm. Paid for Galactic Civilizations III: Intrigue Expansion (p.o.) weeks ago but it doesn't show up in steam today or when I launch the game. Do I just need to wait or is there something simple I need to do? Thanks. Order number: 4156446
playing onyx it says I can't buld a city without promethion. Is that just a tool tip error or what?
I assume there will be an extended opt-in period because of the huge changes(?) In any event, also totally looking forward to Crusade!
Really looking forward to this! What I most like about Stardock is how they keep developing GC, and not in trivial ways to be sure. [e digicons][/e]
@admiralWillyWilbur perhaps I misunderstand your comment, but if I click the button at the bottom of the shipyard display (don't notify me when queue is empty or whatever) and empty the queue by cancelling the builds, it effectively shuts down the shipyard.
Cell phones have audible alarms. The 8gadget tool package has a digiclock with an alarm. A grandfather clock (not necessarily full size!) that chimes on the hour and half hour. I admit that one has to think relativistically about this, as time obviously moves about three+ times faster when the game is being played. (Oh, I have a half-hour, I can get in a couple of turns.)
I just managed to win an ascension game on excessive, but it did take a bit of planning (mostly so as not to win by another method, as I had everything turned on) and the last 100 moves or more weren't exactly spell binding. I think the biggest thing to me is that if you have the power to get control of 50+% of the crystals and hold them you can switch and win by just about any other method more quickly. This brings up the problem of why anyone would play a game that way oth
Yes, having to check on it is a bit tedious. More important to me for diplomacy rather than the money, but a good thing either way to know.
Agree completely.
Update: When I tried to load a 1.81 save game, it gave a message that it was not compatible with the current version. Not unexpected, really.
Thanks that's all the encouragement I need.
Any chance I could hope this (1.82) is save compatible with the previous? Just thinking of trying the game that was giving me trouble (and I submitted stuff on). Is there any point? Not a big deal, but whatever. Love to see you guys keep banging away. Why didn't I join early. Need brain surgery. (I did pick up the new DLC immediately, didn't even look at it fir
That is great news! EDIT: I have confirmed that it is now working properly.

I have been seeing this lately. Sometimes it can be hard to target a fleet. In one case, I was never able to target a fleet despite clicking several times around it. It thus became a Zombie, in a way. Do we need to submit a ticket showing this?
Yes, I did include debug.err. The ticket ID is LLL-689-15004
I did manage to get a save in which I reproduced a slow down three times. I have submitted a ticket. Hope it helps.
I am past turn 300 (reloading a save game has always fixed the problem so far) and I did have one slow down today. I tried to save but couldn't get one. Bleh. It seems to go through all the AI then "idle ship" appears and there is a massive slowdown (every minute or so something will change on the screen...for a while...and then it stops completely). Strange that reloading and doing the same stuff doesn't reproduce the slow dow
@Pshaw When I see slowdowns I believe in every case the display on the right showed "idle ship" grayed out, and no display of any factions (just to the left of the "idle ship" message.) Tough to get a reproducible save, as I can't save once it happens and it is unpredictable. What I would really need, I think, is a sequence of the mouse clicks that I am doing just before it happens. As I say, I will try to get somethin
I have not ic ed in my excessive game, turn 250+, instances of sudden drastic slowdowns. It seems to occur when I try to do several things at once. I don't have a clean save that is very close to an event to submit, but I will try to get one if I can and send it along. Best workaround is not to click like crazy, it seems, but there may be more to it. Checking the task manager when it
Personally on excessive at turn 140 ish I don't see any problem...yet. NOTE: I am running GalCiv3 on the SSD. (Only GC3 and EU4 get installed there, Everything else goes to mech drive for install, LOL).
