I'm a bit late to this thread, and broadly I think the information about production, economic icons is correct. My concern is with the graphics of the buidlings though - I just don't like them. They all seem a bit "un-futuristic" - the market looks like a medieval era one for example, the factories look like they're from the 1920s. I think ideally I'd like something that looks either more futuristic, or perhaps more run down. In fa

While it is an alpha and things will change, it is still important to let the devs know what is good and what is bad at this stage so they avoid unnecessary work. What people would like to see in terms of graphics is important even if the graphics we have now aren't representative, otherwise 6 months down the line when everyone sees the "finalised" graphics we may well be disappointed and it'll be too late to make major changes... r.

Hey which idiot named their star "Barnard"!!!!! RAAAGGEEEE The names have to come from somewhere. Besides editing your own files to remove names you find distracting, you could perhaps assume that the "unusual" star names are simply English literal translations of the star names from some alien tongue. Perhaps they have naming conventions more in line Native American names, or use a form of constellation naming - this would happily expla

I've also encountered this against the Drengi. They create large stacks of ships, after the first combat the stack seemingly disappears but it is still there. Seems like a mix of fleets and individual ships in the hex. Once you get through some rounds of combat and whittle down the stack, usually a ship will reappear. r.

I think I like the idea of star bases and specialisation - this seems like it will add some nice strategic options while removing some build queue management, and there's no point in making gc2 again so fresh ideas are welcome. I think though I might be inclined to say that non-combat ships can be built on any planet (colony, scouts specifically as well as the proposed constructor) with the aim that it would be possible to play and win using cultural effects rather

Your description doesn't seem to be quite the same, but when I ran into a problem with this step I needed internet explorer open to proceed... See this : https://forums.stardock.com/444749/page/1/ R.

So it appears the first beta is really a hybrid alpha given it will be incomplete from a feature perspective. This could come as a shock to some beta purchasers when the finally access that version.... :) However, getting into the hands of users as early as possible is usually a good thing. Good luck with the development, I wish you a smooth journey! r.

Well I guess you get access to the beta. I hear release is a year away so beta should be 10 months away at a guess. See you then! EDIT: actually the star dock estimated schedule says the beta will potentially be available in a few months so not that long to wait after all! r.
I encounter similar when I got Spore from Steam instead of Orion. The reason for the multiplayer not working is that the key was bought by Steam. If by playing around you can not get it to start then I would contact Steam.
Thanks for the suggestion but I don't think that's the problem in my case. I bought the key direct from Stardock, I'm not trying to play MP I'm just t

Hello, I'm downloaded the alpha and try to run it from Steam. The first screen I get is a dialog asking me to enter my Stardock email and pass to activate "Founder's Benefits". I do this but then a dialog appears telling me the actication failed. Then a text error log appears and shows this : Using silent activation with null serial mode. Application start: 2014-3-28 1.0.28 Silent mode Mode 2
