So... now what?

Back when GC III was announced, I hopped at the idea of buying it as soon as earthly possible.

Naturally I jumped on the Founders edition. I don't remember exactly, but it appears there were two tiers of "Founder" available.

One, it appears, was solely to give you a forum badge... which is, ultimately, useless. This appears to be the version I purchased, having limited funds for a freshly announced game that was only a glimmer in the dev's eye.

The other gives you Alpha access for an additional fee.

And so I ask, having paid for the Founders edition so many months ago now... what was the point? Does this really net me anything outside of a useless forum badge? If people who paid chunk of cash more get Alpha "elite" access, what on earth was the first tier of "Founder" even for, aside from "helping" fund the game in a superficial way?

I ask this fully expecting a few folks with overzealous, defensive intent might jump at the chance to show their quality by trashing my comment... but I think it's a valid question.

Well I guess you get access to the beta. I hear release is a year away so beta should be 10 months away at a guess.

See you then!

EDIT: actually the star dock estimated schedule says the beta will potentially be available in a few months so not that long to wait after all!

r.

End of quote

The Founder's Elite gives all future expansions and all future DLC, among the alpha access, name a star, etc.

The regular Founder's Edition was a chance to get the game at a $10 discount, and have beta access.
