4. With the habitat improvement/etc interface it would be lovely to have a way of distinguishing the tiles that only habitat improvement or above can do from the ones that the ultra-terraformer can do later. I currently often wait to use habitat improvement and the like until I've researched ultra-terraformer so that I don't waste potential tiles on the planet. I do ultra-terraformer on every tile that I can do it on, then I build all of the cheaper but more powerful til
I am playing an insane sized map, A/A/A/A I generated the game under 1.02 build. Past turn 300 and 300 colonies, I started getting intermittent crashes when I try to destroy a building. By turn 304, and 346 colonies, I am crashing with every attempt to destroy a building. I had the unfortunate experience this evening to have over 70 colonies finish their queue on this turn, and I was just about to finish setting colony orders when I came to a Drengin bas
My requests are more simple (I hope) 1. a way to either cancel all project-type 'improvements' in the planetary build queues with a single click, or the act of completing or acquiring a terraforming tech would include cancelling the project-type 'improvements' so they come up as idle colonies again. 2. The option to zoom to the planet from the Govern/Colonies dialog. 3. A tab for galactic info that would display habitable planets without colon
My first 'how do I?" post! I've looked in the manual, and searched the forum, nothing seems to come up. I have a map in my current game that I like the layout of quite a bit. How might I save it to use it on future games?
I havent played carriers. I have fought again many however, the AI truly likes them once they get to that tech. So, they are SEVERELY flawed IMO, and here is why. Carrier modules have lots of value and very good threat. However, the threat is MEANINGLESS, because the real threat are in the fighters which have already launched. Remember, there is no retreat in combat. The VALUE is MEANINGLESS as well, bec
Start a game, with any settings. Build the ships you want in the builder, exit that game. Start a new game with the settings you wish, and your designed ships will be there. Your ship designs carry over from game to game. If you want to make a new design without equipment and then when you save it click the 'save as template' button, you can use that ship base later to design and equip it like you would the core ship base designs EDIT: You will sometimes find y
Ok, I know I might be the only one interested in this, especially after so many people have become so proficient with the builder, but is there any way in gameplay options to add a way to alter the axis directions in the ship builder? It's driving me crazy a little to do anything. I work for an aircraft manufacturer, and the coordinate system I'm used to at work is twisted from yours, so every time I try to offset a part, I'm moving it 90° from the direction I think I
I just noticed this when redesigning my high speed colony ship to take advantage of my latest round of space savings. I am a capacity freak, with every chance to lower mass or increase capacity, I take it. So with only the last portions of the tech trees left to research in my game I have these values. Deep Space Support Mass:4 Cost 52 Maintenance 0.2 Range 39 Value 1 Support Field Generator
One thing I forgot to mention, that's where invasion types come in. They can reduce defence or resistance etc.
This is why I'd think it could go over 100%. Resistance can.
Quoting Smithy6482, reply 4 I'd rather see a limiting of choices based on previous selections. IE, If I choose any of the first level of Malevolent options, I would be automatically locked out of the top level or two of the benevolent tree. Take a 2nd tier and you're locked out of
Insane map, all abundants, no minor races, rare pirates, 19 factions. I just noticed this, and have checked it in several planets. As an example, I have an Elerium defense shield (level 4) and a planetary defense system (level 3). My planetary defense should be 135% with bonuses due to level, but it's reading 100% EDIT- The resistance numbers are calculating the bonus from the Planetary Defense System level correctly.
I build a user defined constructor with 4 constructor modules on it. With Builder 3, I should get 5 constructor points, and that is what it is giving me. A few turns ago I gained Builder 5, and I should now get 8, but I am still only getting 5.
Ok, I encounter this all the time, and it seems so basic a thing that I keep forgetting it happens. If you are at point A, and you click to go to point B, there are obviously 2 paths, you either adjust your position on the X axis, and then move along the Y axis to get to your target or vice versa. Could you PLEASE put it in the pathing decision tree to take whichever of those two paths keeps you out of opponents territory??????!?!?!?! Every time I am near opposition te
Hey guys. I just was entering another mid-late game phase on an insane sized map and I had a question for others who like to play really large maps. What do you do with ships you find from anomalies? If your experience is similar to mine, by late early game, you are designing your own ships heavily and very rarely using a core ship. Core ships just can't get anywhere fast enough. So, as you are collecting anomalies, and you find all these core ships, what do you do with th
the game uses FG and BG for several places. now I can see what is going on. in order to use it on the startupscren shot and the report shot you`ll have to srink her down to about 1/3rd tp 2/3rd the size she is now. and move her to the right. not all the way to the right but almost. leave her back ground Transparent. and try that I can help some too but if you do the work you`ll understand better. Now I wanna make Kerbals as a custom faction.... While I agree that the wasd approach has some merit, with the dials you have half a degree control. Do you really want to have to push 'w' 720 times to get a full rotation? The better choice might be to add an input box under the dial, so you could type, for example 270 degrees, then fine tune w the dial.
I almost forgot but I remember being able to drop in my own music files into the 'music' folder. Both GCII and Civ 5 had this and I typically added just the classics for this game. (my own tastes here) Mozart Bach Beethoven Tchaiko

I got the image to load, finally... But I need to look at a different image manipulation program. I was just using paint, then an online file utility to make the background transparent, but it didn't do that, it appears to have made it black. Out of curiosity, what do you use to manipulate images?
I've been trying for a couple hours to insert a new leader pic into the game. I have it in the right folder, and the game somewhat acknowledges it's there, but when I try to load it, it's showing a blank image in game. It's a PNG, background is transparent, and it's 1980x1020.... Any ideas?
