1) starbase governer when you select a specialization you get a list of all module types that can possibly be built with a simple on/off switch for example after selecting economy starbase i get the following list manufacturing ON morale ON wealth OFF research &nb

as far as designing ships other then constructors i usually use the default ships till end game then i design my own WMD's. i build my own constructors because for some unknown reason the game seems to think that they need life support modules rather then extra constructor modules as far as battles go i watch the occasional one purely for fun and i spend about 95%+ of the game zoomed out to the max

Actually i think they want a default location you can use rally points but its not ideal as for the ship name thing the problem is when you upgrade the ship it reverts back to a default name
- I refuse to believe that Mars would not be colonised by the time humans had invented the hyperdrive (ditto the planets in the AI factions' home solar systems)
while im not familiar with the lore to much a good reason for not having mars colonized would be cost, if mars were largely reliant on earth for its resources the cost to colonize it would be extremely prohibitive until the hyper drive technology comes into play reducing the costs to ship materia

the malevelent choice for design revolution all ship parts reduced by 10% mass does not provide its bonus i believe this is becuase the xml points to masscap and should point to the various movescapmass, etc Merciless DesignRevolutionEvent_Merciless_Bonus_Name DesignRevolutionEvent_Merciless_Bonus_Dec &l

The problem is your economic advisor has bee syphoning credits off the top for decades and then fudging the books recently he made a bad bet with the mafia and welll you're broke but seriously i wonder if the check is comparing against both races treasury?

are you specializing worlds for production? The way colonies are set up you wont get much out of them unless you specialize them Are you adjusting your spending sliders? This kind of falls in with specializing but the spending for a world defaults to a balanced spending 33/33/33. Manu/research/wealth. And 50/50 military /social if you dont adjust that you will only be sending about 16% of your production to ship building</p

why dont you move the shipyard closer to one of the planets ? unless you have the traits that reduce distance decay part of the reason it takes so long to build anything will be that your planets are so far away

14 Replies 15,253 Views

yes it does a range check from the shipyard that is the point of the check if there is no planet within range of the shipyard there is no way of getting colonists there Im not quite sure what you want to do here
You need 5 modules to eve approach the abilities of a single building.
i totally disagree each economic starbase adds 10% to raw production that imo is more powerfull then pretty much any building you place on any planet

Bah wasting a trait on patriotic is inefficient just use starbasses i havent built a single approval building on any planet ( except the one that generates a malevelent point every ten turns) most of my planets only use 3 of the max 12 starbases and i dont have a problem keeping my approval at 100% usually around 60+ planets

You only need steam to install and update gc3 you can then just launch the exe and should be able to close steam entirely

As far as i was aware the voting was limited to only votig for the top 6 races this is by design the fact that the ai can vote for more is i believe a bug
Paul and Frogboy have said the Yor are better late game and its best to kill them as soon as possible But, there have been race/AI balance issues and the devs have been trying to balance it out with the patches.
the problem here is what is the definition of late game? for a player playing the yor or a similar synthetic race you can hit their stride at some point between turns 15-30 is this late game? whats a go

it should be middle mouse and then move the mouse if that doesn't work then maybe your middle mouse button does not work, or you reprogrammed it with some button mapping software?
Maybe that should change. Why do we get reports of ships in our zone if everything is international waters except for the starbase, shipyard, and planet? Maybe we need to make hundreds of really cheap ships that can blockade borders. I can't imagine what a nite mare that would be to update their locations as the influence borders shift like sands on the ocean.
i was doing that in one game i built a double row of milita
