Thanks for the explanation, makes perfect sense now. I too tend to think that other people know what I know, because if I know it, it can't be that difficult for others not to know it. Sadly I still forget this more often that I should. So what is needed to fix this is some Boolean evaluation of the results of the calculation somewhere within the exe or a dll file. [Oh dear, did I just prove my pre

I thought I liked Micro-management but I'm not doing anywhere near what Alfandtot must be doing, especially with the auto-upgrade feature for planetary improvements. I can Philosophically see the reason to have Approval based on Economic success. It's why politicians are re-elected when there is an economic boom but of itself it d
Sorry but that doesn't help me understand why it's going to take almost 5-Trillion turns to build, especially when the more mundane are probably averaging somewhere in the teens' and XMC is a few down the build Queue.
Stupid question #1 : you're sure you had completed the production of these Hyperion improvements with 1-turn before you built your new ships ? I know you're not stupid, but I know it takes at least 1-turn for starbase improvements to be built and take effect, just wondering if it's the same for planetary improvements. </
I was wondering why my Entertainment Centres weren't upgrading.
Bump.
Hi Gaunathor and all, I recall that in GC2 the 'Hyperion' improvements were both 'Super Projects' and applied Empire wide. They were balanced by being fairly costly to build, but without any other limitations. Glad to hear there are &#
Glad I could help.
In that case : Bump.
I still agree with Gaunathor. Hovering over something to get a set of meaningless numbers without a clue as to how they effect everything just doesn't cut the mustard. This stuff should be transparent and tabularized just like it was in GC2, seems like a case of throwing away the baby with the bathwater. <s
you two weren't the only one, every time I tried it just rotated a part. Thanks Charon.
It's not really a button, just a confirm box, and I don't think there's an option to say "No". As mentioned elsewhere, you have no clue what is happening or where, unless you're lucky to be looking at where the action is, which is usually only when you start the combat. I've lost a starport without knowing for ma
I agree, especially when it comes to the bonuses from Economic or other starports that influence output on a planet.
I have avoided having the Drengin in my games let alone play as them, I want to see how other stuff works without too much war to start off with. In my experience, you have to research more than just war techs; I think it's the Diplomacy branch where you get all the Economic techs and later those for Approval [i.e. Entertainmen
Thanks guys but I already trawled through the podcasts to see how it's done, nice to know that, as always, there is more than 1-way to execute a command.
I have no problems, however I always use the largest map you can have with habitable planets and resources set to abundant. Everything else is set on common or lower especially Black-Holes on rare. I would prefer that the lowest planet rating was 10 apart from the uninhabitable ones. For galaxy type I never choose random and always seem to obtain a decent starscape with the setting on either scattered or spi
Thanks guys. I know it's Beta and they're trying to balance the game, that's why I posted my feedback. IMHO they've gone from making it a little easy to making it too hard to be enjoyable. Puzzles me why they've left the bug console "cheat" mechanism in, but then it is useful if you put a Starbase in the wrong pl
We're now into Beta1 with an update patch already giving us Version 0.40 . I played, whatever version the initial Beta1 was, for 5hours quite happily, saved the game and then did the auto-upgrade via steam. I wish I hadn't. The game works without C-T-D's in V.0.40 but they have tweeked the Approval values and mechanics w
Dear All and Larsenex, yes there is a new Patch already to load once you've loaded Beta1. [ To version 0.40 ].
It's the only disappointment so far.
Saroru1, I did say "I'm probably wrong" and my thinking goes back a few years when game magazines were more commonplace and games were available with patches that had '64bit extensions'.
For the Economic Ring you have to research down the Economic strand of the Diplomacy branch of the tech-tree about 4 leaves down. Don't forget to send a constructor to use to enable its build. You need a Constructor-ship for each upgrade [on the same Hex as the Starbase]. <span style="font-family: book antiqua,palatino;
All this talk about game playability [after all that's what it boils down to] is starting to worry me. Even with my 4-core i7 processor, it sounds like that's where the choke point will be when the game is ready for release. Maybe we will get some indication of how things will go later today with the Beta1 release, to see how thin
Hearthstone ? ? ? ? ? never heard of it let alone understand what it's supposed to explain.
I also like to Colonize where-ever I want regardless of anybody's influence.
