I suppose when it's actually released we'll see a huge influx of new users using the site/forum and it will be louder. For now we are scrounging for attention/news.

My respect to you sir, I wish I reach 74 and, whatever else I might be doing, also find some time to play GalCiv as well (maybe Galciv 7 by then ;p )

You probably just saw some veins under your skin if it's quite thin. There's a condition called argyria http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argyria , mentioned also I think in this thread that turns skin bluish-grey. This is when you eat too much silver and it gets deposited in your skin. It then reacts with the sunlight (like a camera film containing silver ions) and turns blue/grey. I think in India eating silver is consi

MaybeI put it in a wrong way. Both the atmosphere and the seas are actually clear. They only have colour as we see light being dispersed in different ways due to several factors. En masse, and from a distance, they look blue.

Will the new starbases follow the freighter and mining model? Send a constructor to a place, build it and then link it to a planet. Then assign the planet to build modules/contribute production towards modules being build on starbase? I have to say that building constructors was a double edge sword for me. I like the flexibility, but late game with lots of planets and constructors everywhere, it became a grind...
Quoting Lucky Jack, reply 81 Quoting Ashbery76, reply 32 The problem with Smurfs,Navi and Asari is why have they evolved blue skin on a green planet? Is this any different from our many skin colors (none blue) coming from a blue planet? The adaptation of blue skin would be advantagious as certain animals tend to be color blind, or blind to certain colors, so for example some animals can no
I'm not confirming anything.
Hahah, same difference ;) You should probably keep Resistance for now. Dictators usually keep the same name to emphasize that they are continuing as before and they are not really that heavy-handed. In the future, perhaps it could change to something like, the Altarian Union, as she might try to show how united the people are under her. I

I still haven't finished the podcast but I like most of what I heard. I agree on the population front, sometimes I never bothered building farms on farming district squares, thinking what is the point. That made me sad.

Ok, I notice the name has been changed to Akari Malara and explanatory text has been added. That's great :) May I suggest that instead of just changing the name in all the instances in the text below, you keep Eleys /Elsys here since she was the leader of the Resistance in ToA?: "They may have been wiped out entirely if not for the leader of the Altarian Re
Quoting Rhonin_the_wizard, reply 27 I am not that big a fan of retcons, I think it would be best if you changed her to be a different character than the one in GC2. And in GC2 her name was Elyes Mue, unless this is her daughter or something. And try not to go overboard with the whole factions thing. Thats an error. She's not supposed to be the s

The blue hue could be the reflection of all the blue light coming from the podium/screen in front of her, although I'm not 100% happy with her either. I also thought the glowing tattoos were characteristic of Altarians. A way to show off their manipulation of the 'magical'/dark energy. And why is she so angry? On the positive side, at least now she is distinguishable from Jenna Casey -.-

The Drengin are kiiiind of feline. If you squint a little. Although they look it less and less with each update. Maybe a cross between hyenas and felines.

I assumed it was gone as ships can now finish their autopilot and remaining moves automatically? Edit: or the end turn button might change text and serve a dual purpose like some other games! ;)
As for your research idea, I don't like it. It's too unbalanced. A race with good research skills and/or lots of colonies will out-research a race with bad research skills and/or few colonies. This advantage will only increase, the longer the game goes on. Unless the weaker race manages to get techs another way, it'll be unable to catch up. This is already the case in the base game, to some extent,

Obviously we have to remember that this is just a game and other people use multimonitor setups to e.g. Play a game while doing something else. Next thing we'll be asking Stardock to make GalCiv themed computers... Hmm....
I like the idea of being able to affect the population through policies and immigration management. The resulting race 'mix' of a planet should also affect its loyalty (a planet conquered by the Drengins but predominantly populated by Torians should be very likely to rebel)
Actually this could be expanded to more: The resulting mixture of population could give you some modifiers. Have more Altarians in your newly conque

I'm all for it if it won't take more time away from single player development. I don't have multiple screens but sounds like a good idea. Either extend the playing map or have some colony info/research/taxes showing up.
