You need to get a paint program (like photoshop) and create a transparent mask for some parts of the foreground so that the background will show thru. I had to learn to do it. It`s a little complicated at first unless you know your graphics stuff. But once done, you won`t forget. This link might help. http://www.wikihow.com/Add-a-Layer-Mask-in-Photoshop
Yeah, there's some memory leaks, but nothing that isn't sorted by a quick reboot/closing the game and force-shutting through TM. There's no systemic issue with running a full game on 8gb, provided you're willing to restart the game a couple of times.
I guess that`s why I never noticed that issue and I played for well over 5 hours or so on Huge maps. But I do have 16 gig ram.
Just to let people know I had opted back out of 1.02 and kept my version at 1.01 because of the nerfing I went on steam today and despite the fact I'd opted out it had downloaded ver 1.02 and I am now stuck with it! I hope I don't have to mod it to fix it as I'll probably stuff the game up doing it. yours sincerely - Unhappy Bunny
I had a feeling that the guy who said you can just

They recently released a big stat
Don't get me wrong, the game is MUCH better than most games when they come out. (That is the way of things lately, games rarely come out spot on) It needs some love, and they are giving it. Unlike Total War or CIV, Stardock kicks out updates fast and furious. Some use that against them to say "See, it was not ready!". Hell, would you rather wait until an expansion 6 months or a year later to get the improvements? Look a
OK, I have put together a VERY Quick and Dirty mod. There is no readme file. There is no docuemtation. There is no description on how to install it. Maybe (MAYBE [e digicons];P[/e] ) I'll add all of that later. In the following zipped file there are three files. The 1.0.1 versions of MapSetupDefs.xml and StarSystemDefs.xml. I also have a modifed version of the 1.0.1 M

It`s a great game, I`ve said so before and i`ve always liked Gal Civ`s way of doing things. Well done to the Devs who made it and patches can only improve. Well done. That said, I`m not going to wet myself over prasing them. Maybe some of you are still very young, but we all have skills that we are good at, no one should be raised on a pedestal. Maybe if they were modders doing it for free, but they`re not and we must pay for the enjoyment. To be honest, I don`t think t
Yeah this whole diplomacy design sucks. It is poorly thought out and not very deep at all. Add to that Space Battles and AI build scripst on worlds and you have a starship designer and a galactic empire simulator which might as well be done on a spreadsheet for all the actual care the AI seems to give to acting like it cars about anything.
I`ve seen worse... quite a bit worse.

I wish people would get on with the point of the Patch 1.02 and stop praising devs just because they told someone off in a fit of anger ( a little unprofessional in my view, but it`s your forum). I mean it`s getting embarrassing. Seriously, get off your knees, they`re game developerss, not gods. It`s done.
Will we ever see fleets being reinforced by another fleet on the same tile or adjacent tiles? Does this already happen; have I not played enough to notice perhaps?
I don`t think that exists. I`ve played 4 games so far with multiple ships and never seen that.

Just an improvement suggestion: 1. It would be nice if when you wanted something from the AI to be able to ask: "What do you want for this?" So we don`t always have to go through a lot of clicks to find out. If nothing then they could say, "You have nothing we want!" Yea, they had this in Civ5, but i always found very useful and logical time saver. Also, I find the term, "Are you joking?" at the start of a negotiation
On our end, as we watch the Steam statistics on who is playing what we can adjust as time goes on.
I have to pop in here. A mistake. Not everyone plays their game while online. I always play in Offline Mode disconnected from Steam. I cannot be the only one. CA made the same error with their TW game and produced the rightly rubbish Rome 2. One could say it`s how they interpreted the Steam stats, but I`'ll bet

If I rename 'twilight' that means I get my music and not ' the original which was also named 'twilight'. Thanks for the clarification. In essence, I have to replace the existing music with what I like. I do not want to do that. Thank you again. I will wait till

I`ve noticed a couple of buggy issues also, but this is the opt-in patch, it`s not the Official patch. We have to assume that by the time 1.02 proper is out these things will be better. They are no doubt working on it right now, so give them a little slack.

Ok, just posting to say i really like Gal civ 3, but then again i liked Civ 2 -Didn`t like Suns as I am a turnbased fan. Stuff I like: 1. The customisation of your Civ and even opponent Civs. I managed to create my own Civ with me in the picture. I had to learn how to make a transparency, but after that no probs. Looks really great. I also made my own enemy Civ exactly as I wanted, really g
