It seems to me after playing as them and after watching them play in my Terrans play through, their need to build their people is a serious detriment. It prevents them from building the labs and factories, etc. that keeps them in the game. Playing as them, it felt like I was always playing catchup. Any one else having similar experiences?
Quoting Larsenex, reply 50 Bellack, it was always going to be that way from the beginning. There was no tactical combat or even any mention of giving orders. However in an expansion after release we will get ship captains that we can give orders to on fleet behavior.

Revamped the look of the site! I like it better now. Cleaner and more straight forward! Come on by! I'll be putting up a couple articles a week and each day I'll add news as it comes in!
Diplomacy and AI Beta 1 won't have diplomacy in. Some modder might figure out a way to turn it on but it's not ready to be shown yet. I am not scheduled to begin writing AI code until October. In less than 1 week, these forums will likely get very very busy. [e digicons]:)[/e]
This is disappointing, though. A 4X game just isn't the same without diplomacy. I literal
Let's not get tooooooo upset about a beta patch having bugs here, fellas. If Derek hasn't already posted about it, we've pushed 1.7 by a week. Should be ready to go for a 7/24 release.
I'm not upset about the beta patch having bugs. I'm just frustrated that some of the most annoying bugs from 1.0 are still around. I'm sorry if I came across as rude or ove
I'm curious about the pathing graphic we currently have. Right now, when the ship moves, the path is constantly updated to show how far its' first turn will take it. I don't like it the way it currently is. I was hoping it would show during the current turn and while moving, that the path graphic wait until the turn is complete, or even the next turn, to then show how far the first move can be, i.e., the green part of the path i
I'm perfectly capable of seeing well at long- and near-distances and the fonts in this game are horrible. They're too small and too hard to read. And this forum's color scheme is so horrible that I want to stop coming here. Please fix it. It's difficult to read.
I appreciate the guesses, I really do, BUT I WANTED AN OFFICIAL ANSWER THAT WAS NOT A SMARTASS REPLY ;)
As the title asks. Just curious to know when I should block off some time.

Beta by end of May seems a little soon. Is there something I'm missing, or is beta not going to be feature complete like a beta is *supposed* to be?
It's not going up today
Stardock usually releases patches on Thursdays. Just sayin.
Hahaha, I watched most of that like an as...err, idiot. Imma just go back to being less annoying now ;) Thanks for the laugh, Frog!
Named one after my son. He'll really like that when he gets a little older.
What happened to the UI overhaul, that was planned as the original 1.4 patch? (Havent played and visited the forum for quite some time)... Is it going to come at all?
This is a very good question. Don't give up on LH yet, SD. I know you're planning 2.0, but with some UI fixes, finally squashing those bugs, and taking some cues from Age
Ooooohhhhhkay, I'm with you, Frog. However, I know that Stardrive was able to give me access to the game long before it became Early Access without it being in the store. I don't know how he (Zero) did it, but it definitely happened.
Why waste your time when they might already have a list? This is why I need to know what they know/plan to do already!!
1,000% agree here. This needs to be a hidden early access. I've already seen/heard so much negativity.
So, herein lies my problem with GalCiv3 in its current state. I don't know what to suggest because I don't know what is planned already. Is this the most current version of the game? What kind of things should I be looking for? Bugs, obviously, but beyond that, what is actually on the table? Right off the bat, I don't like that the turn color/counter resets to green/1 after it has moved. It leaves me thinking that it still has tu
Hell, this is my problem with state the game is in. I have no idea what is PLANNED to be added, so I don't know what kind of things to suggest.
Oh man, this game looks good. All of the preview "Let's Plays" are just mind-blowingly good. It looks like it took a couple cues from Fallen Enchantress and may be the better game. It certainly looks poised to be my new go-to.... Watch Quill18's playthrough as a Dwarf Theocrat. If this game isn't 9+ across the board, then I don't know what fantasy 4X game will be.
I'm buying it, so I'll let you know. As an "Instant Access" game, I don't think there's an NDA. However, I'm REALLY looking forward to Age of Wonders 3. It looks like it may replace Legendary Heroes for me, sadly. All of the "Let's Plays" make it look like a better game...
pffft i already know everything we learn anyways no seriously i got an A on 3 of my 4 classes pretest lol
Hate to sound like a jerk, but it looks like you could probably pay more attention in English class. Bottom line: don't skip school. It's not even supposed to be fun, so what's the point, anyway?
