Yeah, at eXplorminate, it's our job to know what's on the horizon, too. It's a great time to be a 4X-focused website, that's for sure. There are a bunch of indie 4X games coming next year, too. It's pretty ridiculous. Thankfully, however, they appear to be broken up well in to the various quarters. Who knows, though. A list of all the 4X's (that we've gathered together at eXplorminate.net

I agree that seeing the wheel return is...annoying. Also, the lack of diplomacy options are disappointing. I want a close borders option. If I have another AI settle in my territory, I'm going to scream. LET ME CLOSE MY BORDERS. I agree with the above posters; I hate the back and forth. Whiners gonna whine and that sucks, but when it's better for the game, let them whine.

I personally like both games very much! The new AI update for Endless Legend makes the game much better and just came out last week. Have you tried it? I think they both do different things very well. I think LH's city building is more fun and deep and its combat is more fun. It also adheres to the tried and true civilization formula a bit more and it works well for LH. Meanwhile, Endless Legend is much prettier (IMHO), the factions are much more varied and

Hahaha GOG is somehow better than Steam? I can tell you that GOG is just as "evil". They won't allow perfectly good games that are a bit smaller because they're "too niche". Since when are 4X games "too niche"? I get so tired of the ol' "Steam is teh evilllllll" posts. All businesses are "evil" at some level. They're all out for themselves. Some of them are just a bit more transparent about their real motives.

What kind of fixes, features or changes can we expect? This patch is easily my most anticipated (as with the DLC). I have had issues with the diplomacy since day 1 and, in addition to some other niggling issues (god I miss politics and invasions), I'm hoping that this patch will breathe new life in to this game... So, can we please hear something official?

[quote who="Board_walker" reply="2" id="3602227"] While I haven't played BERT, I do like the ideas that you proposed. I'm not sure what the war score mechanic, but the other ideas I think would improve an already really good game. I'd also like to see some type of progression or veteran ranks applied to ships/fleets that win battles. Some of my more stalwart ships can be involved in many battles, and I'd like to see some type of acknowledgement of that--whether

I think we can all agree that GalCiv 3 is a solid base. We'll all probably disagree with what we think it's missing or needs help with. Rising Tide was a fantastic expansion for a sub-par game. It wasn't enough to fix all of Beyond Earth's issues, but it went a long way towards making it fun. First and foremost was its overhaul of diplomacy, something I find is seriously lacking in Gal Civ. The diplomatic currency that's used to build relationships and make agreeme

Yes, the two faction cap is silly and easily one of the dumbest design choices. Brad even references that the unit count for the current faction is 15, the "same as Starcraft 2", yet that means little as Ashes only plans to have two factions, where SC2 obviously has 3 and each are very distinct. Another faction of hover tanks that employ shields as their gimmick leaves me feeling that these guys don't know what makes an RTS fun or appeal to a larger audience. <

These are all really great ideas. Hope Stardock sees this. Easily among my most desired features for this one. Maps need help...

I'd really love to see different types of space debris, different map features like unique black holes, etc. and remnant colonies that you can take control of. That, and remnant starbases that you can take over that are very powerful. I think GC3 needs leaders and heroes, so that would be an additional layer of cool things to find...
