Next Patch ETA?

As the title asks. Just curious to know when I should block off some time.

There is no announced / set date yet.

From what has been shown and discussed on the live-streams I think it is looking like it will be soon though. Taking an educated (possibly wrong) guess I am thinking the next alpha update will be this week (possibly tomorrow as I believe SD patch on Thursdays) or next.

I'm with evil monkey here. There's no ETA at all but for how long they have said soon and by combining small tid-bits on livestreams to make an educated guess, I'm estimating it will be tomorrow (not just hopeful; it seemed like this since last week). If not tomorrow then next week is extremely probable (can't say definitely as there's no date!).

Definately maybe, for tomorrow...Unless its next week than possibly likely!

Does that help narrow it down?

hehe...

Or maybe at the end of the Month....

But it will be soon.  Very soon.  And when it comes, it will feel like this chat was just yesterday.  Or not.

Within the next 2 months.  Just narrow that down. ;)

The. What. Did I miss one? The shipyard was the last right?

It seems like ages, there has to be something they need tested! We have made alot of suggestions maybe we can see some of that stuff since this is the only time to test the ideas.

It will be soon on a scale of glaciers and galactic orbits.  It will be forever on a scale of may flies and atomic orbits.  Find a scale that works for you and wait there.

As for me, I am waiting over here, with intoxicants of various flavors.  They can take their time.

(Actually, the family just got a copy of a thing called Legacy Risk.  It is a wonderful package for a group of competitive gaming geeks.  It will help fill the time nicely.)

Middle of next week I'm headed out on a month long RV trip, so I predict it will be released a week from tomorrow.

I appreciate the guesses, I really do, BUT I WANTED AN OFFICIAL ANSWER THAT WAS NOT A SMARTASS REPLY ;)

Being that everyone else has put a guess out there, I'll put my 2 cents in as well...

I say Thursday June 26, 2014 or Thursday July 10, 2014.

It would not be released on Thursday July 3, 2014.

As always, we generally don't give exact dates especially with an alpha as things can change rather quickly.

I'll just say "soon".

Thank you Mr. Tease! Yes, totally joking as I do understand the issues involved, I'm just an impatient SOB that had to vent and currently has too much free time on his hands... yeah, right! :D

^Yes, you don't want to disappoint the diehard fans that are so understanding and supportive. Its not like we would go loco on a estimate that was a day over. Please trust us!

(I say it will be this Tuesday as the week starts it will be the final touch ups and then it would be released the next day=Tuesday. IMHO.)

DARCA. ;)

XWerewolfX as everyone has tried to tell you WE DON'T KNOW when it will be released.

How about this.... the next Alpha patch will be released...WHEN ITS READY!!!

Calling everyone a smart ass even if we are Smart Asses!

If I had E=MC2 tattooed on my ass would that make me a smart ass????

I noticed an update yesterday. After it was done, I checked and it had turned off the Alpha testing in the beta test tab area. I paid a hundred bucks...I sure hope I get the new Alpha and Beta loads. Inside Steam options, the Alpha test link is missing.

I think the "live streaming" from yesterday (Friday, June 20) may explain what happened, or at least part of it. During the broadcast Paul said they had found a serious bug at the last minute, which he hoped would be fixed quickly.

If (please note the "if") they had been preparing to make the latest update available and been uploading code to Steam when they spotted the bug they would have had to block updates somehow. I think they would have had to turned off controls that allow updates to be distributed to save us all from getting bad code. From what was said in the broadcast they expect to get the problem solved and the new patch available to us as soon as they can (hopefully in the next few days).

BTW, this is the reason they don't like committing to schedules. They know how bad Murphy can be. 8C

And anything that can go right will go right... As I said Murphy's Law goes both ways. But again this is software code we are dealing with so again you might be right :).

i have never before heard a second half of murphys law and looking it up

"There were a number of particularly delightful incidents. There is, for
example, the physicist who introduced me to one of my favorite 'laws,' which
he described as 'Murphy's law or the fourth law of thermodynamics' (actually
there were only three last I heard) which states: 'If anything can go wrong
it will.'"

"It was while working on this part of the study that I ran into the perfect
exemplification of 'Murphy's law' at one university, where everything that
could go wrong did!"

"It is found that anything that can go wrong at sea generally does go wrong
sooner or later,
