After this post I learn you can create player guides on the steam community page for the game. I made a starting guide there and plan on keeping it updated. You should go check it out... http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=438892333

That's how I know its time to stop playing GalCiV3, when my mouse hand starts to go numb.
I thought that is where they went. Odd I can only get the portraits and logos to load up.
I am messing around with custom races and want to add my own images. I have figure out where to put the png images to show up under the leader portrait. I just am unable to figure out where to put the faction image that shows up in the race select window. Any one know how?
I played a game last night with Genius AI, but very limited planets to limit their current growth issues. Around turn 150 the Altarians attacked me without cause save for trading with opposing ideology and I was an opposing ideology. The Altarians actually had about 15 fleets of ships ranging from 4-11 in size. I thought I was going to be in for a fight. I only had 2 fleets with 9 ships each. I crushed all the
The AI is just as passive and naive with trades as before 6.2, if you play with little to no planets in your galaxy. I am playing against genius AI, with opposing ideologies, on a medium map with very few planets. After the land grab I have 2-3x as many planets as each AI player. Once the land grab was over the AI started to fight each other instead of me and I have yet to build a ship. All my planets are most
Why not have the 12 levels that are in GalCiV2? Notes from watching the AI. I have done like 10 games to a 200 turns on soak. I have no idea how the AI is building all the colony ships and constructors. The planets do not have the production to build either of them in the amounts the AI is building ships. AI build order for most new planets: Shipyard (Did someone forget to tell the AI the cost on building this went up
Think I am going to try a smaller map with very few planets to test out the AIs other skills. Lets see if they build anything and put up a fight in ship combat....
None of the military improvements work that I can see. No reduced mass, no increased hps, etc....
Other races have battle healing, they just have to add the module.
I am guessing no one plays the Iconian or a custom race with their tech tree. Pick up healing hulls and you never have to worry about your survey ship's hps again. Late game you can get living ships to boost healing even more, along with no ship maintenance.
I was playing my first game with Genius. I thought I better start off lower than the Godlike level I normally play in. After you said Gifted was as bad, I tired normal. I think so far normal is way too easy. On turn 40 I have 14 colonies and the most any AI has is 8, most have around 5. I also have about 10 tech to trade vs 2-4 for the AI major players.
I just had the same problem. I saw 3 Krynn colony ships coming into my sensor range and one close enough to set up a colony I missed. Next turn the shipyard was built on the new colony. Next turn a colony ship was rushed. I had to hit FoW command and see what is going on. They have 19 planets, 12 Shipyards, and 13 colony ships on turn 28. Most all the other AIs have about the same setup.`
Here is how I set up all my games. Custom Race Home System - Lv16 Planet +2 Racial Traits (25%) Production, (20%) Clever, (20%) Economical, (25%) Capacity, (+2) Fast +1 Racial Traits +1 (15%) Influential, (+1) Content, (10%) Fertile, (10%) Militant, (15%) Farmers -2 Racial Traits (-25%) Traders, (-25%) Popular, (-25%) Courageous, (-25%) Resilient, (-2) Likable With this set up I get a good bo
I have not seen this CTD listed anywhere. I have been working on my steam achievements and can r
You got a lucky start. I miss how you got 20+ quality planets in most of the systems back in like beta2 or 3.
I use it to take over AI players and see how they are progressing with making them harder to kill. They are getting better but still needs some work.
I just posted this on steam and will copy it to here for you. Yes click the tilde key “ ~ “ on your keyboard to open the console window. You can access a ton of commands that are great to test out parts of the game. One of the commands is “unlock” you will get access to every tech in the game. You can build all kinds of ships to test out a number of ideas. <
Trade them a few resources for a few techs is also and easy way to tech past them.
I'm not sure the AI has been informed of all the changes. Shipyards use to be easy to build, now they are quite costly. I have found though that you can bi pass this by creating a constructor and then building a ship yard...much cheaper. This seems kinda silly that you can do that if the change was indeed meant to make ship yards harder to get / easier to defend early game.
I still like the change. No
Sounds good to me :)
I have not even clicked that button yet [e digicons]XD[/e] I have nothing to do tonight and would be happy to test it out. I am on EST time and I just moved so I am used to AZ time.
I think if they can get the AI to at least build up a planet like a average player the AI would be much harder to beat on.
Brad said in the last stream he did not plan to add stealth. He stated on how GalCiv1 had the feature but that coding for GalCiv3 would be a nightmare for the AI if stealth was in the game.
I tried to play the Iridium Corporation after V.42 but my game would crash to desktop with a error. The error message is only up for a split second and all I remember is seeing a runtime error. After a few games of trying I pinpointed the cause of the crash. While playing the Iridium Corporation(and only them) any time you try to create a starbase a CTD occurs. I was wondering if any one else is having this issue? Or maybe know a fix. I am unbeatable while playing the other good races and wan
