I just got to play a fair amount this weekend. I noticed that after 50-60 turns the turn time went from a few seconds to over a minute. Trial and error: Huge, 8 AI + my race, mostly abundant settings 1. I tried to restart my cpu and reload...no change in turn times 2. I tried with with less mods, so a new game. Ok I figured it out after I rolled back to 1703 windows 10. I had installed a mod off nexus for more ship colors. That mod was crashing the game before it even loads. This is why I wish all mods were on steam where I could subscribe. If the mod was out of date the game would let me know, like in Civ5 or 6.

Nor did I until May 9th when my PC auto updated. Once that happened to update to 1703 have not been able to play. I even tried to uninstall the game, anti-virus programs, updated all video drivers etc.. Now I am only able to update to insider build 16199 atm and still unable to play. I just click play and the stardock launch pad closes. All other stardock games work save GC3.

The pragmatic ideology trait "Constructive" gives you 3 constructor ships. The player then can upgrade them to colony ships. This has been in the game since before release. I was even able to upgrade all 3 to colony ships after Crusade went live. Was not until today when I tried to play with the new patch that I was no longer able to upgrade all 3. I understand the reason for the change just wondering why it was not applied to the 2 constructors you can start with on turn 1. I h

You missed a change or you fixed my quick 3 colony ships after years :( -Ideology pragmatic trait constructive only able to upgrade 1 of the 3 constructors to a colony ship. Before you upgrade any of them the option is open, once you upgrade one the other two get grayed out. Was kind of nice to have 2 constructors at start upgraded to colony ships then do the same thing with the 3 constructors a few turns later. By turn 5-10 have 6 colonies by onl

That is good to know. I think that is a bit over kill as well. Can I change it to something like TwoPerColony, ThreePerColony? Back to how it was before the nerf where you got 1-3 out of the lower terraform techs.

Thanks that worked. I hate the class 4-8 planets. I could at least terraform them in GC2 up to 12-18 but in GC3 its more like 8-12 since the terraform nerf.

I have a question. In base game I would go into the game folder and edit: StarSystemDefs.xml to edit the amount of planets that spawn around a star PlanetTrautDef.xml to edit the class level for planet types, like BreadBasket GalCiv3MapsDef.xml to edit the spawn rates of planets and the class size I have edited everything in the Crusade game folder yet I see no changes in the maps when I start a game. Well that sounds cool. Now someone needs to release a tech tree chart with all the techs related to traits and abilities. Going to take me forever to figure out my new race. I can see Brad smiling now. Guess the AI can kill me now I have no idea how to play the game again. This is the fun part too.

Can someone please explain how we select tech trees now? I always use the Iconian tech tree and have no idea how to select that on my custom race. I do not even get the Iconian tech tree while playing the default Iconian.
