Cheat codes

I've read on other posts that GalCiv3 does have cheat codes.

1) How do you enable them?

2) Is there a list anywhere?

My use of cheat codes in GalCiv2 was always to make the current game better. I loved using the code to play as the computer race. When I came across an opponent that had the potential to do well, but wasn't making the proper choices, I'd take him over and "point him in the proper direction." If this involved colonizing a planet or two for him, so be it. I often turned minors into "pseudo-majors" that way. I had a game where the Akilians had 5 systems. It added a lot of flavor. Thanks all.

I just posted this on steam and will copy it to here for you.

Yes click the tilde key “ ~ “ on your keyboard to open the console window. You can access a ton of commands that are great to test out parts of the game. One of the commands is “unlock” you will get access to every tech in the game. You can build all kinds of ships to test out a number of ideas.

The game is in testing and this is/was a great way to try and break the game. Then you can report back to the devs on how you broke the game so they can fix it before release.

You can type in “help” in the console window for a list of commands to play around with.

Thank you! I'll give it a try.

I use it to take over AI players and see how they are progressing with making them harder to kill. They are getting better but still needs some work.

Arakis, that's exactly what I meant. If I had a good game going, I took control of each civ. Often I used the cheat to improve planet quality around them and give them some cherry planets. It was even more fun doing that for the minors.
