Yeah I agree. You have to be well into the mid game to even think about destroying a starbase or shipyard. Right now I'm conquering planets and leaving the starbase/shipyards alone. Kinda silly.
Zhurok
I was able to build 2 Central Banks on the same planet for some unknown reason.
You're a Founder, you've got the badge. You're good to go!
Minor interface bug: You can't tell stacked ships to Pass turn if one of the stacked ships has already been given the Pass order. You have to click end turn, then you can do it. Only a small annoyance.
Awesome! I think most of us Founders would've liked to have seen this handled differently, but the level of vitriol from a few individuals was completely uncalled for. I'd post more, but I'm gonna go play it! :)
Yea i often destroy them if i have multiple..... but never the ones with useful adjacency bonuses, the one that has utterly useless adjacency are the military adjacency.... so useless it makes my eye twitch whenever i see one! lol
Military adjacency is actually really useful if you get it on one of your major military production worlds. Readiness Center +2, the trade resource +2, maybe another military b
Pretty disappointing to see that the colonization bug is not fixed. Seems like it would've been pretty easy to test if the fix actually worked.
I upgraded from 8GB to 16GB during the beta and saw a huge increase in performance on the big maps. Turn times dropped from 30+ seconds down to 3-4 even several hundred turns into the game. I highly recommend upgrading RAM if you want to play on those huge maps.
While I can't argue with any of that, the Intimidation Center + adjacent morale buildings + flat morale from techs IS a helpful solution to the problem.. up until a certain point at least. Realistically they need to implement a cap on the large empire penalty or rebalance it somehow depending on map size. It's definitely broken in its current state.
Out of curiosity are you using the Malevolent ideology approval building? I've found it to be pretty powerful on Insane maps. That said I haven't gotten an empire quite that large yet.
Which systems were this? I am running it on FX-8350 with SSD and 32GB DDR3 and it becomes unresponsive during turns, and doesn't appear to use a constant amount of cpu power during the game, very heavy during initial setup and then barely at all until you hit turn where it jams the cpu and then after it is done with its 5-10 seconds of processing is responsive again. Please don't tell me it is because AMD IPC because I am clocking around
The game was running perfectly fine on high end systems, just give us the options to customize planets/stars how we want it and we'll be happy. As it is right now it's rather.. vague.
On the planet screen if you hover the mouse over manufacturing, research, or economy it shows all of the bonuses.
I imagine the i7 with 8GB RAM would run up to Gigantic maps pretty well. The i5 with 4GB.. not so much.
Thanks for the update Derek. Glad to see you here! I loved FFH.
I'm having similar issues. My save games disappear, but I'm stuck with some old saves from patch 1.0.
That planet would've flipped to you in around 10 turns or less. Silly reason to ragequit.
I beat the campaign today, and the achievement 'There is a crusade coming' did not fire.
I upgraded from 8GB to 16GB and I've seen a huge increase in performance on the 3 largest map sizes. Worth it if you want to play on Insane. I found 8GB played on Gigantic pretty well.
The tears in this thread are hilarious. I for one really like the specializations, even if they need some tweaking & balancing.
Yeah I'm still getting this as well in Beta 6 opt-in.
Haha yeah I encountered this recently and had a good laugh. Good stuff.
This is really cool. I think it'd be great if you'd allow at least some of this capability within the race generator vs xml modding. Assign a total point value to home planet value/colony ship/scout/etc and allow the player to modify it in game.
I totally agree with this sentiment. That sound is awful.
I've experienced this issue on two different PC's. I submitted a ticket. Ticket ID: WRC-667-50351 For anyone else reading, I don't believe it to be a system spec issue. I'm running an i7 8gb ram and a decent video card and still get this. Is my PC brand new and top of the line? No. But I can only assume it is well above whatever recommended specs they're aiming at.
