Unless patch 1 changes the numbers again, I expect it will change. They changed weapons right up to release so some ships need to be edited as you have mentioned to get back into specs. You have to access them to fix them.
I've spent endless hours in the designer and can tell you exactly what will happen if you share a design with a founder part. It will work for everyone, if you try to edit the ship it will crash the game. That is what happened with each beta that they changed part names or weapons.
1 is not a bug but a safeguard against losing ships. More than likely to away after release or patch one.
If you challenge a ship by placing a more powerful one in it's path, it will either run or ignore you. It ignores your ship, it gets attacked. The AI will often beg for peace the next turn. If you are not strong enough to do that, then AI should be pushing you around and would ignore any plea you made. Star bases get bought if I like the civ or destroyed if not. Most of the time all that happens over the next few turns is a worsened relationship. <
thanks, I've been posting most of my designs on Steam's GC3 Forum now.
My answer to the pirate scourge
I got bit by the starbase bug, so I haven't done any playing since .95 came out.
I think they finally got all them fixed and now this one broke.
the only one I noticed the icon missing is one of the engines, is that what you have?
but what was the fix, have a reason for asking
I just got a 9.8 mb update, what was it for?
My first Beta6 ship, a small patrol boat
it's not a bug, it a safety feature to keep from losing ships like in the early betas. I'm pretty sure Paul put it in because the mass of equipment keeps changing from patch to patch. It allows to edit the ship and bring it to the current capacity/mass what ever it may be.
More than 18 or so map colors to stand for 100 races, gets mighty confusing when 4 races are yellow and you are at war with one of them.
the only way to get what you want is to mount parts to a hub and animate the hub. Do not include the hub as part of your assembly. Then everything will spin correctly.
my newest fighter, done to promote the fighter contest for the GC3 Ship Designer's Group on Steam
if you have trouble contact me on steam, I'd be happy to help you.
hold the ctrl key and pick all the parts to include, then you click the group button. Sometimes it doesn't work, but if all the parts in the list collapse in to one part you know it worked.
When you give the homeworld name that will used as the star name.
thrusters give you agility in battle. you can group all the parts of the ship and then scale it as one part, if you ungroup it the ship will revert back to the size before grouping.
5.2 allowed me to get my custom race and custom ships together. Now meet a true Red Demon of the Alterans.
I agree, you have 5 left, ok we start with 5 point version, nope, ok 4.8, nope, 4.6, yep we have a winner.
The best part of the founders package is you get all future dlc and expansions for free. The people at Stardock go way overboard in trying to please. If you contact support I am sure they will work with you. Adding the star name is a few lines of xml code.
Hamilmac , Paul has promised a tool to do the hull size changing. Issue started way back when all we had was up to medium hulls. Many of us designed titans anyway. So sometime after release we will get to turn them into real size they need to be.
