What gives? I know that I have one trade route as yet unassigned, I have one trade ship being built, and still have potential trade partners. This message just popped up out of the blue during end of turn processing and I have no idea why. What is it trying to tell me? I have to wonder what this will do for how quickly it heats up GPU chips.
Thanks.
Erischild, you may be closer to what I am asking for, but maybe not quite. I remember all through the Beta that there was supposed to be a way to create ship templates that were used to automatically create ship designs that automatically had the latest technology. You created a skeleton design that automatically got the latest engines, weapons, and armor, and gave the template a name that the game added "MK0", "MK1", (or something similar), ... to it. I guess you could call this a ship
This is not what I was looking for. I want to build an "outline" of a ship design, or a template, like what is done for the core ships.
I design and use my own ships, but I am finding that I have to add a new ship design each time I complete a research that adds ship capabilities. I have heard that it is possible to create templates that will automatically include newly researched technology (such as better engines; beam, missile, or mass driver weapons; defensive modules; etc.). What does it take to do this?
It would be nice to know how much money decommissioning a ship would bring before accually pressing the button to decommission the ship, I.e., in a tooltip when the mouse is hovered over the decommission button.
Is there any game in the world that can handle so many opponents? The processing power it takes to play so many is huge. I really think it will take more than just a GPU upgrade to improve the performance significantly. It will also take a CPU upgrade. Also, you should probably watch your CPU/GPU temps as well. Many CPUs and GPUs will automatically reduce clock speed to avoid being burned out.
I am bringing this up again after having asked for it in the beta of GC1, GC2, and the alpha and beta of GC3. Because of common usage across the entire scope of Windows applications, when I click on the shaded area of a scroll bar of an item list that contains more items than is in the display, I expect the list to move the first undisplayed item and all of the succeeding items that will fit into the displayed portion of the list onto the list. This is practically an industry standard
I tried the uncheck option in reply 3, and luckily only had 14 Starbases to do it on. With an Insane size galaxy with the potential of hundreds of Starbases it is clear to me that a game wide option is needed, one that allows us to pick what the default condition is so that we can turn it on or off for individual Starbases as we desire when we desire with a minimum of fuss.
Is there any way to turn off the currently automatic queuing of the building of constructors for the creation of Starbase modules? The way it is done is extremely disruptive to my playing style.
I think it would be very helpful if the description if buildings in the tech tree included prereq buildings.
Also missing are some of the sorts GC2 had, although the sorts that have been added to GC3 are helpful. The one from GC2 that I miss the most is the ability to sort unoccupied planets as a target for my colony ships.
1) Sorts. All of the lists in the game need improved sorting capabilities. See the list sorting capabilities of GC2 and start there. Sort planets, ships, starbases, etc. by name, type, class, size, distance from selected ship or planet, population, population capability (i.e., how much food), production, morale, top item in production queue, etc. Distance and non-ownership is of particular importance in "goto" lists. 2) Filters. Discovered planets by ownership or non-ownership and sor
Romero, please notice that your DxDiag output has one significant difference from the one posted by mxrsmoothx. His (her?) output clearly shows the integrated HD4600 data as the second display device in the "display Devices" section while yours repeats your NVidia GTX 970 data instead of listing the HD4600 data. This is what makes me think your problem could be a conflicting set of GPU driver settings? This is the biggest reason I think your problem is likely to be the result of a diffe
Romero, have you opened a support ticket? It sounds like you may have conflicting settings for your two GPUs (integrated plus 970). Stardock will be the best place to get the help you need.
I don't see anything that shows me directly what your problem may be, but I do see one or two things you can try. Your processor is one of those that has an integrated GPU on the Intel chip set. What is strange here is that your DxDiag output doesn't show the HD4000 data, but instead shows your NVidia GPU twice (or do you have two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970s on your PC?). This may be because of a system setting that controls the cooperation between the Intel GPU and (in your case)
You have a paired integrated GPU driver on your Intel chip and an NVidia GPU. While your NVidia driver is not quite current (latest version is 353.62, which is Win10 ready) it should be fine for the game, but your Intel HD4600 GPU driver is just over a year old. I am willing to bet that when you try to use the Computer manufacturer supplied utility to update your integrated GPU driver it is telling you that it is already up to date. If this driver is your problem (and there is nothing I see y
Not sure, because there are a number of things that would be of use in the output of a DxDiag run. The first thing I would check with what you describe would be the OS's virtual memory settings. With 16GB of RAM you minimum should be 16GB and your maximum should be at least 3 times that.
If you have registered an e-mail with your registration then it should automatically send you an e-mail right away if your ticket was sent successfully. If not, you may have to send Stardock support an e-mail to [email protected] to have them check that all is ok with your account.
Have you just upgraded to Windows 10? Many problems are being reported after upgrading to Win10 and a few suggestions have helped. Look at Windows 10 - Cannot Save Game » Forum Post by michaelguillory55 for instance. Also, there has been some mention of doing a "clean install", which may bear looking into what it entails and what the consequences may be. EDIT: After looking at it, I don't think I li
Then I guess it is up to us to post on his forum. Is there anyone here that is running GC3 on the official released Win10? I have not activated mine yet.
Since Windows 10 has finally arrived I have been perusing some forums on Win10 and came across a MicroSoft forum listing the games that run on Win10 titled " List of Games working on Windows 10 ". I didn't recognize any of Stardock's games in the list. Brad has mentioned that Stardock has been testing GC3 on Win10 so I would gues
Thanks. I have added the link to my bookmarks. I suspect I will be using this tool heavily if I do decide to go to Win10.
OK. I just read the articles on the update fiasco. What I see is that Windows 10 takes away any choice in when and if someone wants to do updates. Is this correct? If so, this will cause problems with Early Access games where you must upgrade drivers to beta levels before the game will even work. Stardock, if this is indeed what is happening, please add your considerable influence to the plea to get MicroSoft to correct this. I am also going to follow the NVidia forums
