What do I like the least? This is going to be a long list for a game I like, but that's the way it usually is with games I consider B+ quality. Lesser games I quit over bigger reasons, better games have fewer reasons. Many of these are game balance related 1) the way Life/Death shards work. It's buggy and hamstrings the game in some areas. 2) overemphasis on best equipment/armor 3) Wish faction

glad to see the Snathi planned for DLC. I want more evil squirrels.
How complicated can the ideology system get? Right now ideology still feels a little too barebones/simple for my taste, like a thrown-together feature instead of something more integral to the game. One thing I'd like to see implemented is Paradox game-style random events that are based on your ideologies, or have additional options unlocked based on your ideology. Think that would add some spice to the game. Give folks the option

Yes. They're 0. I am surprised steam does not charge fees once the game is added to steam. I'll make sure to always buy my star dock titles from the website in the future Also please make a new
The expanded gameplay change I currently want the most in LH is individualized heroes, which I believe should be backportable from the next game (I think you said that was a feature) Given how that game turns out, I might want more features from that game backported to LH, many of them sound exactly like things I added or changed in LH.
Could you guys at Stardock make a non-Steam version of this game? I'm still not clear on all the details (I'm still searching for them), but having a copy of the game that does not require Steam at all (during any stage of installation and there after) is a big deal for me. I'm quite willing to negotiate on details. The game doesn't have to be Steam free during development, but I would like it to be Steam free at release. I'm even wi
Odds are LH is running on a skeleton crew because they're focusing on the new title and lack folks to work on LH, like it or not. Given certain statements by Brad, I do worry a bit that Stardock has a bit of a people crunch at the moment, as in not enough folks to do what they want to do. Not much you can do other than be patient right now and hope Brad finds some good hires willing to move to Detroit.
The two things that keep me from going to Linux are Stardock games and SFIV.
Strange how well it's being received, considering how I think LH is a much better game and yet wasn't reviewed quite as well. to each their own, I guess.
LH is much less visually pleasing, and AI usually doesn't impress reviewers- most of whom aren't good enough at the genre to need a solid AI.
I gotta agree with Brad I like that I like the shorter tactical battles. I do want more depth in TB's for the LH series, using some concepts from AOW, but I don't want the adjacent hex rule- as that leads to 40-60 min tac battles which are no fun. This is what made me realize that I don't enjoy AOW games anymore like I did when I younger, and why I wish I hadn't bought AOW3. I just prefer LH, despite its flaws. As
I wouldn't mind the robot coming back if it can be done correctly- maybe it could be thrown in the campaign or something.
The new FE game for next year looks upgraded graphically. and I suspect it will be more polished. I'm just hoping that you can make a sandbox game out of it somehow, or that stuff can get backported to LH.
I would like to see an event that promotes a minor race to a major race. Asked for that as early as GalCiv II. Aren't Space Monsters supposed to be implemented at some point- they were in GalCiv I? As for pirates, they were more of a nuisance than anything else. I wouldn't mind pirates being something that can happen when civs surrender, or something that can be funded by one faction against another. Over
Ok, on the second topic: One thing I'd like to see is the choices also lead to a chance of random events based on what you pick, in a way very similar to EU4 (A game I know is one of Brad's favorites) GalCiv has always been rife for some EU-style events Example: you pick a policy that makes you militarily aggressive, you might get an event that requires you to declare war on a nearby minor that's annoying you, or
Both things today sounded really nice.
I really would like to see a game taking the best features of both- there's some things in AOW3 that drive me nuts because of LH, and vice versa.
That's exactly what people are asking for.
Maybe force research on government techs at some point or face slight but growing chances of revolt, based on several variables, including cultural influence, governments and ethics of cultural influence, racial factors, world distance, and fear of outside attack (high military might with good relations= more likely to have revolts)
Since I read that Ideology tree is going to be one of the first things finalized, we probably should talk about it here fairly quickly. So far: this is what I don't like about it, and what I'd implement if possible (most likely expansion pack required) Caveat: some of this stuff may shine more once the games last longer and as the beta progresses, I am basing off of very rough alpha feedback here. 1) It has that "filling buckets" f
I really want to see how many sales AOW3 gets on GOG. If it gets 20-30% of its sales on GOG, that means a significant portion of the playbase prefers a non-Steam version. I suspect the number will be much lower though, unfortunately.
How is Starports separate from planets not a dual queue?
Steam forums tend to be gamefaqs-level for every game. I won't say they're the worst forums I've ever posted on/read, but they're up there. That said, I kinda understand why there is some misappropiated rage, what Stardock is doing is unusual, and I think a bunch of folks don't understand it. I love it personally, as I think it should end up a good value (but I will expect at least $60 of post-release expa
Question- will the Alpha be playable offline? Previous alphas/betas by Stardock were "always online" to put data in before starting. Does GCIII follow that model? Note: Stardock games out of beta have never been "always online", so no worries there if anyone's about to be upset over "always online" being mentioned.
1) On the minimap, make it where clicking on the minimap zooms you into where you click 2) On planetary construction, allow picking a spot for an improvement by dragging the improvement from the selections from the right-hand side of things to the tile you wish to improve.
