The AI in GalCiv2 didn't get events AFAIK, and also had special rules for tech trades. I don't think Brad would categorize the latter as cheating, but it was maddening at times because it made no sense.

Besides the 64-bit OS? Basically if a laptop can run LH, and is on Windows 7, should it be expected to be able to run GalCiv III?
I'm surprised that Stardock still gets guff about Elemental. People who pre-ordered Elemental end up getting an insanely good deal at the end. I was disappointed with the original game but FE and especially LH are excellent.
A successful GalCiv III launch will shut up the folks who still spout off over War of Magic- I can't see a scenario where Brad would allow a sub-par GalCiv III to be released, and n
The ethics system really does need to be revamped. Not being able to lock in ethics is a must. Being good or evil needs to have legitimate consequences.
The colony rush made sense given the game's lore. One weird solution off the top of my head- powerful mid-game buildings that have a drawback of adding unrest of other planets in your empire when you build them (maybe even distance based). Maybe economic/military capitals could work like this. So tall empires would benefit from the buildings, wide empires would have a drawbacks. Another alternative would be to have capitals p
I'd like to see the $99 option be kept until official release. One of my friends is currently buying a house, wants the $99 game, but his fiancee won't let him- she needs the money for knitting Daleks. ^_^ (she's a really sweet person so I don't mind, and it's for a good cause) It might take him a while, but he wants the $99 option as he thinks that is the best value.
I want something in between doing nothing, and tactical combat. I'd like to see something Ogre Battle-esque where you give a general order or two, then you do the tactical combat. Stuff like target flagship, or target weak ships, or do the most damage possible. I think that's the happy medium, and it's something the AI can manage as well. I do want to see more toys than just the three basic weapons th
That is something I wish Stardock did. the Mount and Blade games and Dungeons of Dredmor do this as well.
I'd love to see at the end of development of a Stardock game, for physical versions to be made to order that are 100% DRM-free via flash drive or disc. That said, MP will require Steam (it's probably the reason we're getting MP in GalCiv III at all)
Quoting Nathan E, reply 4 Not to flame you but why are you asking for a non-Steam version? Your asking for Stardock to spend probably significant effort on something that 99% of their users wouldn't utilize. Not every Stardock-customer (or gamer in general) likes Steam, and would prefer to see an alternative. I'm one of them. Will I use Steam for this game? Yes, but only because I love this series and want to
