Wow, was too busy yesterday with work to notice that this had been released. Only 17+mb? Wow, I was expecting this patch to be a lot bigger for some reason... maybe I was thinking of Crusades? Anyway, time to start a new game tonight!

This will be interesting to check out! Well, two weeks or less to go... :)
I wasn't trying to skip the launcher, though was happy to see that it did, but I have a Logitech G19 keyboard that has macro keys you can setup to start various tasks, programs, macros, etc. and I have GC3 setup on one of my keys and for some reason it negates the launcher. So I'm good. [e digicons]:digichet:[/e]
No offense guys but please no! No use of money/resources towards something that doesn't add to the game in the least.
We hope to have some news in the near future. [e digicons]:)[/e]
That makes two of us! ;)
Let me get this straight. Those who are complaining about the number of starbases allowed to be built and will not longer play the game because of it are doing so just because you're allowed to build that many and you don't have the "will power" to not do so in order the have the game played the way you want? Okay... that makes sense.
We've updated the game again to reverted the "Large" and bigger maps back to their 1.8 size.
Thank you! EDIT: Wow, not sure about anyone else but this is the worst patch I've ever experienced since release. The game locks up my computer hard when I load one of my saved games and try to play, also turns off all my monitors while leaving the music playing in

This is a known issue. As discovered by one of our other forum members here is the work around: when you want to add a focus to the list to work on after adding your buildings, click on the capital tile first and you will then be able to add whatever focus you want to add into the list.
Thanks for all the replies. It has/is quite the nightmare... I was finally able to download an ISO of Win 10 64bit to reinstall and at least they let you finish before requiring activation. I tried to restore a backup I had from the 7th but it was apparently corrupted at some point in the process and failed requiring me to start all over. My highlight of my day off yesterday was going to the dentist to have a temporary crown put in... Yeah, it was that kind of day... But the good news is, I n
I woke up this morning to find my main computer's ssd drive had died. I had Windows 7 professional upgrade on it that I had upgraded to windows 10 professional. I just went to reinstall Windows 7 and am told my serial number is invalid. I don't have any windows 10 professional install files to use. Not sure what I should do at this point, any suggestions? Thanks!
Holy crap! Nice going guys!! Thanks.
Despite some of the niggly bugs these early previews have had, like selecting a building to be built and then not being able to select/add into the build list the shipyard or diverting manufacturing towards economics, research, etc., I've been enjoying the hell out of this early preview! Brad, you're doing a great job with the AI. I love that they are not the pushovers they used to be. I like how they are buying up the good Bazaar ships. Even on Normal AI level, I find I'm actuall
Agreed... There is a similar event in Galactic Civilizations III but, doesn't seem to have the same effect. Also the Dread Lords event is worthless. They are just another AI that is given some things but, unlike Galactic Civilizations II where they had a fully productive planet right away, there planet is new and they have nothing. So one can find their planet right away and capture it and oh a class 15 planet. Plus
This is exciting and interesting stuff, the kind of things I wouldn't even dare to predict how much change they imply. It will take me a lot of gameplay to absorb. I am psyched. I really liked the visual of the initial minimum influence ring. It did indeed make a good narrative point. I agree wholeheartedly with the pet peeve. Anything I change anywhere should be immediately reflected everywh
It's been working fine for me. Perhaps what you're seeing is an AI that has researched the defense against information warfare?
Okay, I have to day off today but do have to go to the dentist. that's at 10am EST, I should be home by noon so you can have it drop any time after that. Thanks, I'll need the distraction. ;)
I want!!! I want now!!! Seriously, changes look interesting and will definitely give the game a new feel. Hope to see it drop soon.
Wow, reading this list is getting me drooling! Can't wait to start a new game but will hold off seeing you're hoping to release an early access later this week.
And 4 turns later(turn 192) it's at 32+G and quit game as it was too slow...
Wow, I've never experienced this! In my current game, on an excessive sized map with 25 major races and all minors on turn 321 I'm topping out at 13.6gb of ram usage, that's with my also having several other programs running in addition to the game. Turns are fine and the only time I experience choppiness is when I scroll around
...and late-game crashes seem to be common...
Wow, that's quite a leap from personal experience and reading a few posts to generalizing it to "be common"... I can count on one hand the number of CTD that I have experienced playing this game since day one. I literally have over 2400 hours invested in game play and play on the top four sizes of maps only with typically 25-30 major races with all minors. I've gotten as far as 700+ turn
... I don't see much justification for building a military, influence, or mining starbase instead of an economic one. Having multiple choices doesn't work well if you think the other options aren't that good.
Not to sound critical of you, but thinking that the other options aren't good doesn't make that so, it just reflects the limitation of your perspective/strategy that you cannot perceive their potential value.
