I also vote for bringing that post here. I sometimes read in the Steam forum, but I don't post there (haven't even set up my account there so that I could post).
Any mods using GalCiv3GlobalDefs.xml and are not specificly built for intrigue (or 3.0+) will mess tourism right up. (theres some new bell curve chart for tourism been added to it).
Good to know, perhaps I have to look into that if Tourism in the unmodded game still doesn't feel right to me ;)
You are right, I forgot that I modded my game a long time ago to give tourism a little boost by applying a flat bonus of 5 to the Port of Call. I will start a new game without mods to get accustomed to all changes.
Ok, thanks, I'll check that as soon as I can and report back.
I finally came around to buying and playing my first game of Intrigue. First of all I am surprised that mods still work, because I think I read somewhere they wouldn't. So I'm not entirely sure that my experience with Tourism is comparable with other's (but I strongly suppose it is ...) My economy in this first new game struggled a bit, around turn 50, shortly after colonizing my fourth planet, I reached -15 bc per turn. But then my first Port of Call on my home planet was completed,
Are the formulas behind the settings of a linear character (e. g. Stars: 0.1 at rare, 1 at abundant, does that mean abundant has 10 times the number of stars)? And while you are at it: can you make the nebulae bigger (not just 10 or 20 hexes, but 100 or 200)? An option for nebula size would be great, but since I think that is out of the question now it would suffice for me if the chance for bigger nebulae would increase with abundance.
I think the OP means autorepeat planetary projects. GalCiv pre-3.0 (or so) had them automatically on autorepeat, what as very annoying because e. g. when you researched a new planetary improvement tech that gave you a new tile you had to manually switch through all your planets to remove the autorepeat projects to first build the new tile and then build something on it before you could again reactivate the project. So I like it much better the way it is now, but even better would just
At 100% tax one would think a "normal" civilization would collapse, because why would anyone work anything if they would receive no money for that? Either all work is done by machines (what would mean "100% tax" then?) or it some kind of communism or whatever ;)
Yes I also love galciv III. Its my game! But it looks like Stardock try to kill the game to have no more work for it. They try to frustrate the playerbase as much as possible. So they can say " to much negative reviews, there is no more sense to support the game"! It is soooo sad and so disappointing! They other reason to ignore all the players in reference to game support could only be stardock has no idea what the game i

As an option that I would not use is OK. I am also relieved when they removed it. I can only hope that they are seriously making it an option.
Agree.
Yesterday's "sliders across tons of different catogories" simply transitioned to tweaking the xml files, right?! I still wonder why people don't just tweak their own xml files and BECOME HAPPY. [e digicons]o_O[/e]
Because then people have to understand how the values in the XML files affect the game, that's not always obvious, and also more complex changes can lead to the game not working anymore
I saw this statement of Brad also and understood is as an already implemented feature, but sadly that was an illusion, or at least a misunderstanding. I would also consider that feature a great step to enhance the strategic depth of ship design. For example it would then make a big difference whether you fit a lot of small weapons on a ship to fire at a lot of tiny targets at once, but are too weak to crack the defenses of a bigger ship, or if you put a few powerful weapons on a hull
Or you could halve the gatherd ideology points in area A and B if you choose C.
I would like to see special places that have to be explored, but that are not guaranteed to exist in every game and have different grades of probability to be generated.
Give them time to make it right ... (whatever "right" means though ;))
Typical case of too happy too soon :(

There used to be a bug with this effect, but I didn't see it for a long time now in my games. Is this Crusade or base game?

That may be asked too much at this time, but now if you conquer foreign planets it's a valid question how you will treat your new citizens and what rights you will give them. But that would mean you must keep track of the race of every population unit ...
