ahh im sorry, i needed to say group backgrounds. this entire issue is with the group backgrounds not the background itself. That's my bad totally. but it is the group background, not the full background as you sh
i might of found the reason for the stretching, on boot up it forced the image to be 1:1, i can only see this when stretch to fill is not on. here it is when the 1:1 bug is not happening: you can see that

I love customizing my start menu with pictures related to games I'm playing or fixated on. I am Having this really weird bug where images are really stretched when set to fill and/or images getting turned upside down when it is not set to stretch to fill. The old version of the Start11 menu I used to have before updating didn't have any of these problems. i did make a post before but got little to no reply on how to fix it. Here is an example of the bug to what it is supposed to

I have a lot of trouble making images fit the way I want. There needs to be a way to turn off the algorithm that controls the image size. I have marks on my monitor bezel for the four corners of the Start menu and will do screen capture the exact size of the Start menu, but it never
i just want a up to date version that is void of these bugs.
yeah i just took a screenshot of this website and it flipped completely, i did have the old setup.exe that was still working so i downgraded to it and the issue is completely gone. the start11 version 2.51 is just completely void of this problem but the task bar is really buggy. tldr the weird stretch is gone and images do not automatically go upside down. i dont know if the metadata for images is the issue unless this version cant understand it and makes it work better lol.
i have an issue with group appearance as it will stretch further and will not go back to normal. it happens on bootup every time and I have to go out of my way to fix it. the left is normal and the right is wrong. I am on windows 11 25H2 (latest version at the time of writing). my star dock is also up to date. there are no differences when i save it either. they use the exact same settings it will just glitch and stay like that. also if stretch to fill is turned off it will flip upside down a
