I remember the days when people used to be way more into these kinds of things. Back when other solutions were offered that didn't require buying more software. What happened to days like those? Is it really beyond the capabilities of current staff to have a discussion with it's customers about things they can do to fix issues based on their abilities before resorting to pushing more paid software?

Use Winver.exe to get those. Also Windows 10 or 11? Windowblinds full version numbers. Do the issue happened on skins that come with Windowblinds such as Diamond or
I have seen that before, but only with some blinds. I solved it by changing the margins for those buttons Skinstudio. Do you have the issue with all blinds? If not, what wb are you using?
Haven't tried them all so can't say it's all of them but it's all of the ones I've tried. It was also doing it on Windows/WindowBlinds 10.
Yes, Start11 needed for WB11 to skin the Startpanel and taskbar area in Windows 11. Thank you, Basj, Stardock Community Assistant
Given that the start button is skinned it would make sense to just remove that feature from WindowBlinds if the taskbar isn't going to get skinned along with it.

I know Stardock isn't a fan of anything not theirs but here's something to consider for the meantime: https://winaero.com/add-show-desktop-shortcut-to-taskbar-in-windows-11/ I have Winaero Tweaker & have tested that option & it works just fine.
I realize this now, also I found that the culprit was a setting inside of Open-Shell, in which it would revert some settings back to some of the classic settings of WXP. I reinstalled Open-Shell and disabled the feature which solved the issue. Thanks for letting me know!
Which setting?
We did have detection for it in the past but the app changed things. AV apps sometimes make it more difficult to detect them to make it harder to know what AV package is running. That said we could alter the standard message to mention ESET for those who run it.
I know it's not going to help everyone but I really think adding a message about ESET AV would be helpful. [quote who="Neil Banfield" re

Seeing how there are dozens of topics/posts about people having issues specifically with ESET AV, wouldn't it make sense to include a heads up message with some kind of detection algorithm that would trigger it in the installer?
yes, any tool or tweaks that bring back 10's stuff should be fine under wb11, though keep in mind that they may eventually break if microsoft decides to axe them. I prefer explorerpatcher since its just a service and does not mess with the OS like a registry edit would do.
Ok. Thanks for the info.
WB11 will work fine with explorer patcher since that just re-enables a bunch of 10 stuff. If you turnoff immersive context menus, it will re-enable the classic windows 7/8 right click menus that would be skinnable via windowblinds. I would not rely on that program for to long as microsoft may eventually block those tweaks from happening. I have windows 7's command bar feature in explorer. Seems to skin fine with WB11.
You can more than likely find it here: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/orders Not sure about others but the link basj gives never shows me a download for skin studio, the link I provided does.
I tried closing it and reopening it explore.exe but I dont want to force end it because then I believe my whole desktop screen will go black (my previous experience) so i haven't tried it maybe I will later on and see if that works
The reason the desktop goes black is because explorer is the shell, when that gets unloaded the rest does too but the system is still operational. Best course is to have the run dialog open when
